Ya Its gonna be hard resisting to watch BDs, Dark Knight specifically but the aspect ratio changes so I would think it would be ok right?

Uhhhm, i love DBZ, and the remastered DVDs are in "widescreen" but its really just zoomed in , and takes up the whole screen. Would that be ok as "break-in" material?

You can download the break in images and put on the SD card. That or zoom in on the channels.

People still break in plasmas?

This is a thing of the past people... just enjoy your new TV.

I've got a Panasonic TH-42PZ77U. Never did a break in, watched countless hours of widescreen movies, had many lengthy gaming sessions, the TV gets regular use as a photo viewer with still images on screen for several minutes at a time...

Even with all that, I have never experienced a single amount of burn in or image retention.

As long as your TV is calibrated to a proper brightness lever you should never have a problem.
