well, sorry to day that those two didn't work out for me. The music was good/great, but the vocals were too much on the scream/guttural and I've never been able to like that through whole songs. For some reason Fear Factory is the closest I've ever come.

So... loud & heavy, but with clearer vocals? Sounds like you're looking for Helmet.

I've checked them out before, but it's been quite a while so I'll revisit. My favorite songs by them are "Milquetoast" & "Wilma's Rainbow".

The Book of Souls tour. Kind of expected to play new songs. Iron Maiden always has. Don't get me wrong, they could drop Speed of Light for Flight of Icarus (which they haven't played since 1986) or play Killers, Running Free etc. Get rid of Blood Brothers for Revelations. The list is almost endless.

Anyone looking to go Chicago Open Air Festival. Tickets are $20 per day from May 2-May 9th.

Allowing so many a tickets a day. Yesterday they sold out. Back today. I'm going Friday and Sunday.

After what seemed like a 10+ year old initial announcement, the expanded remasters of the Voivod albums "Rrröööaaarrr", "Killing Technology" and "Dimension Hatröss" finally came out yesterday.

I only picked up the "Rrröööaaarrr" reissue tonight, but I plan to get the other two reeeeaaaaaaally soon, as these bad boys were a long time coming.

Looking forward to their set at Wings of Metal.

They were great when I saw them play locally the same night as Napalm Death, Exhumed, Iron Reagan, Phobia and one other band back to back a few years ago.

One of the best concert I ever attended.

I mind when Faith No More and Soundgarden opened for them. 1989/90.

The last time I saw them was at a festival Ozzy headlined. Priest, Cavalera Conspiracy, Testament etc were also on the bill.

Grand Morbid Funeral is pretty good, especially if you're a fan of Paradise Lost's debut album.

I never have really dug into Paradise Lost's catalog. I need to check it out. I think they also might have a new one coming out this summer as well. Part of the greatness of metal is that it seems there's always more to discover.

Finally bought the Dimension Hatröss remaster, thus completing this succession of Voivod reissues.

I know there's also the Metal Mind remaster of The Outer Limits out there from several years ago, but I haven't been in much of a hurry to get that one and if I have plunge a bit of money to own it, it won't be too much of an issue for me.

I'm still plugging away at my Metal music folder. The progress post is on page 125 if anyone is interested. I update that post only.

Those shirts are killer.

There's a new Danzig album out today if anyone still likes him. I've listened a few times now. While he will never sound like 1-4 again, this ones not bad.
