I'm wondering how much Malcom will lend to the film. They're bringing him back so I assume he'll be important though I'm curious his motivation, he's probably really done with the dinosaurs.

They could bring back Julianne Moore's Dr. Sara Harding character in a scientific capacity and have them play a small but significant part together. That is if Ian Malcolm hasn't moved on.

Malcolm shows up and starts giving his usual chaos driven and warning-filled lecture. Blue is excited at the sight of a new human, tears off her leash and suddenly jumps on him (she wants to play). As for Sarah Harding, I am sure she's dumped her kid on him and split for Paris by now. And he'll still be on the look out for a future Ex-Mrs. Malcolm before Blue licks him to death, poor thing.
