In particular the building frustration with the politics and bureaucracy that comes to a head with Diana in the trenches - with her determination that she must finally *act* - is the heart and soul of the film. The film's finale, while certainly quite good, is a bit in the shadows by comparison.

The village fight also features sequences that match up favorably to the Smallville fight in Man of Steel, as well as the warehouse fight in Batman v Superman.

As far as classical tellings of superhero origins go, this has the spirit of such films as Superman '78 and Iron Man, and if it doesn't surpass those, it certainly hugs right up next to them; director Jenkins has delivered a similar styled crowd-pleaser, and for Wonder Woman, it's about time.

9/10
Similar to my own thoughts. While I prefer my comic book movies to take serious chances, WONDER WOMAN for her first film EVER deserved the classic superhero origin story treatment. You can't get anymore classic than SUPERMAN THE MOVIE with shades of BATMAN BEGINS and THE FIRST AVENGER.

I haven't had this much "fun" in a superhero films in a long time. Wonder Woman is refreshing, but the real treat here is Gadot. She kills it as the female heroine (more than most males). The action scenes in this movie work so well because of how much we are invested in her. And she kicks MAJOR ass!

Wonder Woman also has heart. She is such a great character because she genuinely cares about the world and humanity, in a time where it seems lost.

Patty Jenkins has done the unthinkable, and I can't wait to see more.

So far DC is doing a fantastic job in my book.

Batman v Superman (UC) 5/5
Man of Steel 4.5/5
Wonder Woman 4/5
Suicide Squad 2/5

I've found a nice theater, though not that nice. But I'm really looking forward to nice leather, reclining seats and a kick-ass sound system. They are apparently going to put in a Dolby Vision (is that what it's called?) theater. But anyways, it looks and sounds great. So, I am totally pumped about seeing this in a few hours.

As much as I criticize the world, and as much I say everything sucks, blah blah blah ... this is something that is a bright light to me. I just cannot wait.

Yes, I'm hoping WB will release the Digibook again like they have done so for MoS, BvS and SS. Can't wait to add it to the collection!

Saw the film last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gal Gadot and Chris Pine nailed it. Anyone who had concerns as to whether Gal could lead her own film - you needn't worry. She delivered a multi-dimensional, nuanced performance and her portrayal of Wonder Woman will likely rank with Ripley and Sarah Connor as one of the great film heroines. Pine was extremely funny and charming
[Show spoiler]and as unfortunate as it is that he likely won't return for the sequel, he was given a terrific send-off all the same. I loved that Wonder Woman went cray cray following his death and started beating the shit out of various soldiers.

I also really liked the villains. The central villain is essentially the war itself anyway, so I can't say it bothered me too much that the likes of Ludendorff and Dr. Poison didn't get a great deal of screentime. I particularly liked the latter. The actress had every emotive eyes that sold every moment she was involved in. I loved the scene in which
[Show spoiler]Ludendorff tossed a gas mask into the room immediately after gassing those guys and Dr. Poison said something to the effect of, 'What's the point?' The mask won't work,' to which Ludendorff said, 'But they don't know that.' I burst out laughing along with them and had to question my sanity for a second.
I thought the film did a great job of illustrating their sadism.

There's so much to cover, but the middle act is especially fantastic (lurrrrrved the 'No Man's Land' scene), the humour was organic and genuinely funny without ever feeling out-of-place, Steve's back-up team were surprisingly fleshed-out, and the climatic battle was terrific. If there's any minor issues I had, I think the bookend scenes were unnecessary and I think the film got off to a bit of a shaky start. The scenes on Themyscira felt a little bit choppy and exposition-heavy, but I understand that they had to reveal a lot of information in a fairly short amount of time.

As it stands, it's my second favourite of the DCEU (I still love Batman v Superman). 4.5/5 would watch again.

Really pleasantly surprised at the praise for Gadot. There's nothing in the trailers to suggest her acting skills are a positive departure from her earlier roles. I'm half tempted to go catch this at the cinema.

So for those who have seen Wonderwoman, I could swear I saw a little (split second) Linda Carter easter egg, much like what was done in Man of Steel with Christopher Reeve. After doing some research, director Patty Jenkins does confirm that there are some Carter homages throughout, but she's not tell where they are just yet. I got chill bumps though.

This is probably my new favorite super hero(ine) film. It has a seamless melding of Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, the original Superman, and Batman Begins. It's fantastic from the costuming to the cast to the story. And despite the emotional moments, it's downright FUN!

EDIT: Whoever gave it one star in the poll: I guarantee you didn't go see it.

Chris Pine threw some shade at the MCU during a recent interview about Wonder Woman. I've never been a fan of the campaign of insults hurled by members of the DCEU at the MCU, because it's childish as well as ridiculous due to the DCEU performing poorly in comparison to its Marvel counterpart; however, I found this to be hilarious.

I'm looking at stores websites (BBY, Target, WalMart) and none of them has listed the Wonder Woman sound track CD. I was planning on getting it on the way back from seeing the movie on Sunday.

I know the release date of the CD is today.

I remember seeing a post where someone said that they found evidence that there was nothing specifically filmed/designed for IMAX. I didn't look into the evidence linked though as I won't go to see it in IMAX anyhow.

I preordered it from iTunes. I listened to the first two tracks on the way to work this morning.

The physical disc is listed on Amazon.

That was actually a great idea. To have her get off the plane and get into uniform to join the fight with Batman and Superman against Doomsday would have been a nice way to connect everything to it.
