Default *POLL* Favorite Walt Disney theatrical animated feature

As you know, I'm a huge animation buff. I grew up on Disney feature lenght animated movies (Warner cartoon shorts also). I worked for Disney for many years and I was just curious to see which Walt Disney Animated feature is your favorite? The ones Walt personally touched. He died in 1966 and so I will only list from The Jungle Book backwards.

Please have patience while list is being compiled. And have fun with it!

Lion King, though Aladdin comes in at a close second.

Are we including Pixar films or not?

The Brave Little Toaster I can't wait until that one comes to Blu.

My favorite from Walt's era would probably be Fantasia.

My favorite is Lion King, then Aladdin. Not really sure why neither one is in the poll...

I like them all, but picked Jungle Book. Of course that's only because Robin Hood wasn't listed. It's actually my favorite. I love the voice casting of Roger Miller, Peter Ustinov, Pat Buttram, George Lindsay, Ken Curtis, and Andy Devine.

Pinocchio is my favorite. Amazing amount of loving detail in that film. (The scene inside Monstro the Whale, for instance, you can actually see his spine subtly moving back and forth!)

My second and third pick would be Dumbo and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I don't like the post war Disney features. They seem to emulate live action too much. (Lots of "realistic" humans in them, all taken from live action reference.) Disney also lost a lot of great animators after the bitter 1941 strike, and it shows.

Can someone explain to me all the love for The Lion King? I thought it was one of the worst movies from Disney's mini-renaissance in the '90's. Too much exposition, not enough visual story-telling.

Ugh! Tough to pick one. But Jungle Book got my vote. It was a fun movie and came out when I was a kid. Most were released before my childhood. After my daughter was born we watched a lot of Disney movies. We loved The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast too. Bambi was right up there too. They all have a special place for me. I still enjoy them all. I just picked up the leeping Beauty Blu-ray and have yet to watch it. Might be on my to-do list today. I don't know if I ever saw this movie. Might have been one I missed.

Unfortunatly for this thread Robin Hood will not be on it. This movie was actualy started after the passing of Walt Disney. But it's still one of my favorite Disney movie ever as well.
