If you want a smaller fuel efficient car, get a VW Jetta TDI....

fairly quick, and about 50 MPG.... Diesel is still expensive.... but relatively speaking, it's still cheap as hell to drive.

I would hate to have to find someone to fix a prius

for those asking about "Fuel Perks" Some of our local big-chain grocery stores offer 10 Cents off per Gallon of gas (they have their own gas stations too) for every $50 you spend at the grocery store.... and it adds up etc..... anyways.... you can buy Gift Cards too.... so if you buy a T.V. for say $1,000 from Best-Buy.... you just go to the grocery store, buy yourself $1,000 worth of Best Buy gift cards, and basically get a free tank of gas...... plus they offer "double perks" a lot too... like right now, it's 20 Cents off per gallon for every $50 in gift cards you get....

With a baby etc... my wife and I spend $500 a month or so at the grocery store, so we get a lot of Fuel perks....

The Prius's don't get as much MPG than I thought. I was thinking close to 60. But that must be the Honda Insight I'm thinking of. Wonder what happened to those.

i assume you're talking about the same grocery store i have down here, but they also offer a penny off for every soft drink bought at the gas station. helpful if you're one of those people who buy one every day

Yeah, spend $50 and get 10 cents per gallon. I checked my perks. I am still at $1.70 per gallon. Which means, I will be filling up again for another 38 cents or less a couple more times.

Gas prices are certainly going to go back up. When the prices were higher, regular people started driving less (there was no noticeable drop in fuel used for airplanes or truckers). Sure enough since gas prices have gone down, people are driving more again, and it's only a matter of time before that bumps the price back up. Enjoy the low prices while they last.

They opened a new one.... (A BIG ONE!) close by, and they sell blu-rays..... They actually had a bunch on sale the other day (still nothing great, but decent prices on those.... everything else was OUTRAGEOUS!)

Honda Insight used to get mad gas milage, you were right tommyboy, about 57 mpg, but there is an all-new Honda insight being released this coming spring. It will be the lowest priced hybrid on the market and get the same gas milage as the prius. I think it will start around $19,000, which is about $5,000 less than the prius.
