I agree. How the hell can they push up the release of some crappy Resident Evil movie, but delay this one?

But I'm even more pissed off at Universal though, because in February, they'll release Back to the Future on SD DVD (with an all new HD remaster I've heard) but they aren't releasing it on blu at the same time? What the hell!!!!

Again, it wasn't announced so it hasn't been pushed back.

That is really frustrating. I'm assuming the studios are gonna do it up right (as they should), but man, no Hitchcock on blu is a crime against filmlovers. I want everyone of his movies in a 75 disc box set. Now!!

Never seen it. And since it's a Kubrick film, I never want to see. I hated 2001, The Shining and A Clockwork Orange. Three strikes, you're out.

If it wasn't for Full Metal Jacket, those are the three Kubrick films I've watched so far and all went straight to the top of my best movie list.

I recommend at least watching The Shining a second time. I didn't like it the first time either, but then it was stuck in my head. All the memorable lines, and imagery... Same for 2001. They grow on you.

Wow. He's easily in my top 5 favorite director's of all time.

I don't think anyone likes A Clockwork Orange on the first viewing. The violence is too unsettling if you don't know what to expect. Once you can watch it without the shock effect, it's really a brilliant movie.

2001 is not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it has its moments of genius, as do The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut and Full Metal Jacket.

For me, Barry Lyndon is the best movie he ever made. Again, not for everyone...especially kids with short attention spans. But, if you have patience it is well worth your time.

I live in Toronto and have had this on pre-order from the .ca site.

I'm hoping it will ship. But I have it tied in within another order for next week (Dec 16) so I won't know until then if they ship it.

Yeah Kubrick is great, no denying. Almost everything he made was great.

Top 5 Kubrick:

1. 2001: A Space Odyssey (one of the best of all-time)
2. Lolita
3. Eyes Wide Shut
4. The Shinning
5. Barry Lyndon

I can't wait for all Kubrick to make their way onto Blu, but mainly Lolita, Barry Lyndon, and Dr. Strangelove.

Dr. Strangelove is much different than all other Kubrick films. Peter Sellers plays three characters. That should say enough.

I wonder if there are any plans for Spartacus on blu?

And if that's not enough, how about "Full Metal Jacket was supposed to be a copy of Strangelove", only with Cold War humor?
No R. Lee Ermey, but Sellers, Sterling Hayden, and George C. Scott more than make up for sharing the Raving Nutball content...

Why do people say things like this? Skoobooz, stop pushing that it was never announced. Either you are wrong or Blu-Ray.com is wrong. I am guessing it is you, because you are so vocal about it.

Taxi Driver and Dr. Strangelove Coming to Blu-ray

Posted July 29, 2008 08:57 AM by Josh Dreuth

Sony Pictures In an early announcement to retailers, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that they will bring Stanley Kubrick classic 'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb' to Blu-ray on December 9th. Also revealed, the studio plans to bring the Robert De Niro classic 'Taxi Driver' on February 3rd, 2009.
Sucks that it got moved back though. I wanted to buy it today.

I see...because it's on the internet, it must be true. Okay. And I understand this cuts both ways, so I won't be responding again.

Blu-ray.com was reporting on retailer alerts, NOT an official announcement from Sony. Retailer alerts change frequently, and are by no means 'the final word.' If Sony had made a press release announcing Strangelove to the public, then this would be a delay - but they didn't, so it isn't.
