Default Who's getting Dr. Strangelove next Tuesday? (nobody - it's delayed)

With the biggest movie in the history of the world coming out next week, i don't want my fellow Blu-Brethren to forget about this Kubrick classic. The last 10 minutes of this movie makes me pee my pants. Sellers is just a little bit more than "on his game" in this one.

Probably as one of the best lines in movie history in that film, delivered by Peter Sellers like only he can

President Merkin Muffley "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."

Actually, Amazon.com has had it listed for release on DEC. 9, 2008 for quite a while and has also been taking pre-orders. I had also heard it was pushed back, but I still have my pre-order in just in case.

True, but it wasn't actually announced. The Amazon listing wasn't correct.

Why do people say things like this? Skoobooz, stop pushing that it was never announced. Either you are wrong or Blu-Ray.com is wrong. I am guessing it is you, because you are so vocal about it.

Taxi Driver and Dr. Strangelove Coming to Blu-ray

Posted July 29, 2008 08:57 AM by Josh Dreuth

Sony Pictures In an early announcement to retailers, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that they will bring Stanley Kubrick classic 'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb' to Blu-ray on December 9th. Also revealed, the studio plans to bring the Robert De Niro classic 'Taxi Driver' on February 3rd, 2009.
Sucks that it got moved back though. I wanted to buy it today.

I see...because it's on the internet, it must be true. Okay. And I understand this cuts both ways, so I won't be responding again.

Blu-ray.com was reporting on retailer alerts, NOT an official announcement from Sony. Retailer alerts change frequently, and are by no means 'the final word.' If Sony had made a press release announcing Strangelove to the public, then this would be a delay - but they didn't, so it isn't.

That is a quaint opinion.

It was announced in some form, for some reason by Sony, regardless of the party they were announcing it too. Sony told retailers a date, and that date was widely reported. The date has sense changed. Therefore, it was announced.

Whether it was delayed or just never had a firm date does not matter, nor does the announcment being official, as the argument posted was that it was announced, and that announcement set expectations.

Skittles over here wants to continue to claim it was never announced, and that is a flat-out erroneous statement that has NOTHING to do with the Internet's credibility.

But, by all means, keep arguing semantics if that makes you feel better. Hell, if you want to change the argument to when or if we landed men on the moon, you are free to do that...it also has nothing to do with the fact that it was announced.
