PE II was 2 discs, 1 version, no digital HD.

I'd be surprised if it's under $50 on release. Seems VERY unlikely it would be under $40.

Yes this is a big boy...I also highly doubt we'll see any major price drop...Good thing it comes out in November, starting to fill up my piggy bank today!

I believe they are filming season 2 now. I was hoping for more of a FEB 18 release for it, which makes the NOV Blu feel like the perfect release date...hopefully.

Discs are authored many weeks in advance of street date for a major release like this. Transfers have to go through QC. Getting them replicated (pressed) etc. takes more time.

Sorry to be a negative Nellie but we just need to keep expectations in check.

But Game of Thrones has been shot in 1080p since Season 1, so why bother? Just for HDR?

GoT is shot in 2k and you also get at least 10 bit (12 bit if they use Dolby Vision) pixel depth and a wider color gamut with the UHD Blu-ray version.

You must remember there are other benefits besides resolution. Also too, GoT is SFX heavy and that usually means a 2k finish. Blame digital effects for that.

Shot on ARRI Alexas in Season 1. So HDR, plus it’ll still be a better image than Bluray.

Wasn't WestWorld also shot in 1080p, like most made-for-TV mini series?

I've never seen the show on HBO. Does the picture look grainy like Walking Dead which was also shot on 35mm?

I think the early seasons of Walking Dead were shot on 16mm, did they jump to 35?

Thank you, but my question still stands:
Does this series have a grainy look overall, similar to Walking Dead?
