Default Options for hiding speaker wire

Can anyone recommend a good way to hide speaker wire? I just got rid of my carpet, which I had previously used to hide the wire from my surround speakers.

Head over to Lowes...they sell some thin plastic strips that comes with tape on the back of them...just run the wire thru them and paste on the base of the wall, you can also paint them if you want. They also come in different sizes so you have many to pick from.

My brother found some White tubing at a Home Depot I believe for this very same problem. It was really perfectly sized for the job too, not too big around at all, with a Snap open type area for putting your wire/cables into, and then along the baseboard. Works great.

How did the install go? By the way, I'd recommend wood trim and just run the wire behind it, or is that not an option? (already have wood trim maybe? )

I have hard wood floors, an upstairs and a concrete floor below. I understand your delima. I bought a big area rug for my livivng room to hide my speaker wires and it works just fine.

In my case it runs along the floor near the wall. It is light brown and so is our rug (wall-to-wall).

It is mostly hidden by furniture. In one spot I pulled off the baseboard, put the wire behind that and put the baseboard back.

On one doorway it goes up, across the top and then down the other side. Not too visible.

You can pull the baseboard and door trim off and hide it behind them. You can also get flat wire that you can stick on the wall, put a THIN coat of drywall compound over then prime and paint. I saw it in Family Handyman a few months ago (maybe longer... its all running together any more.)

I'm all about fishing wires in the walls or in-between floors

Same boat here.

I am going to fish the wires through the walls. Not going to be hard because one wall has nothing but studs on the other side and stairs. There is a closet leading under the stairs and access to the wall

Upstairs is a bit different. I will have to fish through there. However, my main question is, what do you all use for the plates?

Basically, I want a "jack" at the bottom and a "jack" behind the tv. This will let me feed with through the bottom jack to the top jack. Just power and HDMI. Nothing else. Keeps it clean. Is there a jack that has like a grommet in it so you can push stuff through and it keeps the opening sealed from air/drafts?

Thanks!

Monoprice sells HDMI face plates. The receptacle is self explainatory.
