Great!!! I was just speculating about that on the Dunkirk thread a few days ago, now I'll definitely see it in IMAX.

This is undoubtedly going to be a massive hit. Pennywise is such an unsung horror icon, i wouldn't be surprised if it smashes that $50 mill with ease.

$72 million.

('Course, I've guessed wrong most of this year. Just can't get the hang of 2017...)

I knew those people here saying silly numbers like $100M were out of their minds. $50M has always been a realistic number and a very good number at that.

One of the Cineworlds in Birmingham is giving this a midnight screening in IMAX. Hoping we'll do the same.

A 2+ hour horror remake of a 30-plus year old novel with no stars is going to pull in $50 million? I mean, I realize there is enthusiasm amongst the fanboys and I'm sure as hell going, but I find that opening estimate very hard to believe. Then again, coming off one of the worst movie summers in history (and the singular most poorly attended in a quarter-century), people ARE itching to see something that looks halfway decent. I just think that estimate is a bit over-optimistic. $30-$40 million feels more realistic.

The latest industry tracking says $50M. The buzz from the trailers was out of this world. I'm not surprised one bit by the number.

The fact that the actor is tall works really well here. A tall clown its sure to scare the bejesus out of anyone.

I dunno, the hype surrounding the film is huge. It helps that 90s nostalgia is big at the moment, so those who saw the mini-series as kids are already infested in this. And let's not forget that the teaser trailer broke the record for most views in 24 hours. Warners know they're on to something, hence their sudden decision to show it in IMAX.

Nostalgia for the original version + time update to the 80's appealing to the Stranger Things crowd = an almost surefire hit. I'm pretty sure it will make at least $50 million, and if it's as good as it appears to be, it'll play throughout the month of September and well into the October horror season.

I just checked and I had no idea Will Poulter is also 6'2, that dude does not capture his height from the films I've seen him in. He looks 5'7 at the most.

I'm hyped and excited for it, but I'm not "infested" with anything.
