Seems to me that the UK and other countries are getting better movies than USA is... Starship Troopers, Commando, Predator (has it been announced yet), The Island. Who cares about Premonition and Cruel Intentions (unless the deleted footage is included in the film), and Music and Lyrics, and other crap like that. Give us the action movies... I want the ones above I mentioned earlier and Batman Begins, The Fly, The Matrix Trilogy, etc etc etc. What the heck are they waiting for over here. Kill HD DVD now or either put out the movies on both formats and let us buy which format we want to buy... Give us the director cuts with the theartical cuts. My gosh, you are making so much money anyway. Why does the consumer always have to suffer. We have dual formats, cheesy films with some goodies, and DVD gets all the good director cuts no excuse for not putting those on Blu-ray...

That's what I think when I think about buying the movie "Starship Troopers" in any form.

This may be one of the worst conversions of a book to a movie ever done.

It was a very good book (not great, but very good). The only things the movie had in common with the book were the title, a war with an alien insectoid species and the names of a few characters. Virtually nothing else -- and definitely none of the philosophical themes -- had anything in common with the book.

The French release (due at August 1) contains following soundtracks: English PCM 5.1 /DD 5.1, French DTS/ DD 5.1
Does anybody know which sountracks are included in the UK release (due at August 6)?

Oh come now, there were 2 half scenes (first half of basic training and the tattoo, and the fact that Zim got the brain) from the book! In actuallity it stole more from the anime that was done in the 80s than the book (Football, psychic scene, prom)
