The only problem with that is Shouts transfers are usually mediocre.

Yeah they are hit and miss unfortunately but hopefully they can make it a great release.

Right right. I have noticed that all their new scans (The Thing, Child's Play etc) recently have been of titles that have already had a blu release. But I don't know if they have any kind of deal with Lionsgate but apparently Arrow does.

Don't know but the U.S. sucks. I watch the DVD. If you find a good transfer on blu let me know.

France is the best but to be honest that isn't saying much. It's rough everywhere you go for this title because they use the same master.

I sure hope so. I've been patiently waiting on it forever also.

Hopefully perhaps Shout Factory will give it justice, since they've licensed and released some other Morgan Creek titles recently.

Maybe a 30th anniversary would be great to have? I know it's not until next year. I think it would be cool but of course I still would love for them to release this now and the 2nd one too!

I don't think we'll ever get a new transfer for this since it belongs to Lionsgate. A lot of early Lionsgate releases never got new transfers. Basic Instinct, House of 1,000 Corpses, American Psycho, Lord of War, etc. Worse part is Young Guns II is owned by WB. Unless it becomes a Warner Archive title, we won't be seeing a good release anytime soon.

Young Guns II is no longer with Warner. It's a Morgan Creek title, and all of those films have now left Warner. Shout Factory have licensed and released a few Morgan Creek titles, so the best bet might be with them.

The original Young Guns remains at Lionsgate however.

It's funny that you think the entire future of a film is determined by how it is right now. It'll get a new transfer, but perhaps not on disc, since physical media is on the way out.

Randomly came across a snippet of a Lou Diamond Phillips interview where he said Sean Penn was offered the role of Billy the Kid but couldn't do it because that was when he punched out a photographer, and that Patrick Swayze turned down the role of Dick Brewer because he didn't want to do anymore Brat Pack-like ensembles.
