Hi, pdmax, yes that is one of the benefits I have tried to tell others about in the past (but was always laughed at) that the Sony Blu-ray player playing over a Sony XBR HDTV has more of a three-dimensional pop. I have an XBR4 and a Sony S300 and a Sony S550, and there is just something - especially in the S300 - that works better imagewise than another company's Blu player. I've tried things like the Panny 30 but it doesn't get that extra pop the way the Sony S300 does.
The setting of the XBR must also be set to "Vivid" in order to really get it and the Motion Enhancer set to "High". I've watched films like "The Searchers" on Blu in this way and it really feels like I am right there watching it being filmed. Some here detest this because it is more of a video feel than film, but I love it. |
