i had the same problem with mine and it turned out it was a setting in the PS3 not the TV. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was. you should have a look thru your PS3 settings and make sure everything makes sense.

Perfect pixel + sharpness on Philips sets = grain enhancers. Turn down your sharpness and possibly turn off Perfect Pixel on the set. Also try turning down your contrast and brightness. I can't think of any one PS3 setting that would cause more grain than was inherent in the image.

Yeah amarais i tried that, although lowering sharpness does lower the grain image it results in a blurry image and doesnt look that good. If the grain would just go away i would have a perfect picture quality with my current settings

It seems that you may be searchng for an image that may not exist. What I mean is the grain is inherent to most movies, so regardless of settings you are probably going to see a bit of grain in any disc that isn't a complete digital to digital transfer. Even brand new films can have grain and it is a common misconception that Blu-ray is supposed to provide and absolutely smooth, grainless image everytime. Not the case.

My advice would be to pop in a Pixar movie, if you have one, and check out the image on it. More than likely you will get the smooth image you are looking for--but again, it's because its D to D, not film. If you are still getting grain in a Pixar film, then you know you have a real problem with your gear.

Good luck!
