I assume since Cameron had fought with the producers that they wouldn't have sent the outtakes over to America, so my guess is that he could only cut based on the released version, but I haven't seen anybody who's enough of a super-fan to sit and compare them to make sure.
The basis for his cut does sound like it could be the IC cut since Embassy HE by 1987 (the year the LD and VHS were released for the first time in the US) were part of Columbia Pictures, who released that cut and have film elements for it, so that is a relevant point since Cameron is known for exaggerating his stories a bit (like all of us human being do ).

Also, I believe the R-rated cut (which was shorter, mainly with the nude swimming bits, and had some rearranged scenes) was based off the IC and prepared by Columbia for a US release, but they backed out for unknown reasons and went picked up by that indie company.

So this year I decided to try and watch a horror movie a day until Halloween. I started today with Deadly Blessing. First time seeing it and enjoyed it. What was really out there was the ending. Was it just me?

I picked this up during the last sale and haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I haven't really heard many great things about the film so I'm happy to hear someone that enjoys it. It was a blind buy and may make it into this years marathon (or it may end up not getting watched until November). Either way I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Quintessential studio meddling. I was down with it though.

I'm doing the same thing, but probably won't get in in during the weekends. I'm also in the midst of watching all of the Walt Disney Animated Classics (56 total) before I go to Disney World and I've been doing that on the weekends with my parents who have been coming over.

But during the week it is horror movies. So far I've done: The Vampire Lovers (1970), Island of Terror (1966), Millennium (1989) and R.O.T.O.R. (1988). Those last 2 were more sci-fi but were Scream Factory release I hadn't watched yet, so I'm counting them.

Excellent! I picked up The Lawnmower Man moments ago. I'd like to snag a few more, but it's been an expensive weekend and I still have some pre-orders set to ship tomorrow so I better hold off until next payday. Hopefully these prices stick around all month. If they do I'll likely end up picking up Jeepers Creepers 1&2, and Slither.

Thanks for the heads up. I grabbed Teen Wolf, Slither and Species. All of which I wanted but didn't really have a need to upgrade my DVD's at the $20+ price tag.

Ordered Slither, Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too. The price's are too hard to say no to for almost all of them.

Deadly Blessing is awesome, and I think that it is the most underrated Wes Craven film. I bought it two or three years ago, and loved the Blu-ray, so I'm thinking of giving it another rotation this month, despite my still-unwatched stack.

Just started my Scream Factory collection today with The Thing from Amazon. Luckily got a slip too! Probably going to hunt down Mad Max this week at Wallie World.

I’m slowly working on my collection. I don’t think I get them all but definitely the ones I want.

Discounting Amazon Prime, these are still better deals than pretty much any other retailer. Buy a few titles and you qualify for free shipping.
