I ordered this on BB.com as soon as my store got it's copies without slips and it came with one. Definitely one worth worth hunting down like The Shallows.

My local Best Buy claimed no copies in stock, but I stopped on my way to work anyway, and they had two without a slipcover. Bought one in spite of this. I'll check Walmart on my way home. Hopefully my car doesn't get scratched in the parking lot.

Started watching the 4K disc...
During the first half hour or so, I was distracted by noise/grain on faces and dresses. I was starting to wonder if the 4K version would be best way to watch vs. current BD. Then around the time Van Helsing arrives, thing begin to slowly improve. As Lucy's condition worsen, the PQ improves quite a bit and as we arrive at the crypt things have improved dramatically. The detail is very high with little or no noise or obvious grain. Taking a break for now. |

Just received my copy a few minutes ago from Amazon (which has a slip for those that are discussing that here). Watched a bit and was so satisfied that I stopped to share my first impressions. I am glad to say that I find this 4k version very pleasing. HDR is well done here and it just looks so good with the bright highlights and deep colors. The red garment with the gold pattern that Dracula sports when Harker first comes to the castle really pops for example. The scene that follows Mina narrating about Jonathan "seeing strange new lands" with the coach against a black landscape with a dark blue sky also stands out.
The picture is also very sharp in later scenes. I was concerned about the red faces in the opening scenes but once the movie moved to 1897, faces have a more natural look. The sound is great also. I saw this in a theater when it was released and later picked up the DVD and have the 2 releases on blu ray. This is the best of them all as it should be. I'm going to go and watch the rest of the movie now and look forward to hearing other user reviews of this version. |

Dracula came today, along with Bridge on the River Kwai and Kick-Ass. The mail guy stuffed it into the complex mailbox, and one of the cases got turned around, it was almost impossible to get out. Once I was able to, the Dracula slip case is messed up. Not completely destroyed but bent up enough to annoy me.
Thanks Amazon, for shipping in a flimsy envelope, and USPS, who could have just dropped it off at my door. Last edited by Shimshuta; 10-03-2017 at 07:34 PM. |

My local Best Buy had 2.. no slips.
My local Wal-Mart (conveniently right next door) had 4 with slips and 2-3 bucks cheaper. Wal-Mart for the win. |
