Yep, so the name of this hybrid could also change between now and the film's release. Though I have a feeling they'll stick to Indoraptor, just to hammer home the connection to the Indominus.

The only thing that's valid these days is that you can't discuss anything with out someone saying it's sexist, racist or any other kind of ist...just enjoy the damn film.

Incidentally, Jurassic World is both sexist and racist.

Yes, if you have no sense of humor whatsoever or don't understand storytelling conventions.

I never felt that way. Claire saves Owen's life more than once, she outruns a t-rex in high heels, she's immediately ready to head out once her nephews go missing. Owen comes across as a bit full of himself (considering he's managed to train raptors I don't blame him though) but despite knowing more about dinosaurs than the Claire, she still manages to be more useful after the helicopter crashes into the aviary freeing the pterodactyls. She shoots the pterodactyl that might've killed Owen otherwise then frees the t-rex that stops the Indominus Rex.

Yeah, it was just hilarious when the assistant with 30 seconds of screentime got eaten by 20 dinosaurs for the crime of talking on the phone.

Claire was awesome. And as I've said many times before, I thought the best part of the movie was the chemistry between her and Owen. It was just fun to watch it develop from where they begin to where they end up.

Plus I really like BDH and Pratt. So that helps, too.

Nope but I think it was hilarious that the assistant tasked with watching the kids because the aunt (who was tasked with watching the kids because the parents were busy) was too busy was herself too busy organizing her wedding over the phone to do the one job she had to do. I'm surprised the assistant didn't give the job to her own assistant and then that assistant get eaten by dinosaurs.

She didn't die because she was too distracted by her phone though, its because when the dinosaurs are attacking and everyone else is taking cover she is standing out in the open shouting. Its similar to Malcolm in the original Jurassic Park, he tried to lure the t-rex away from Grant and the kids with a lit flare but because he keeps running after he throws the flare he paints a target on his back but here with more predators the outcome was bound to be even worst. A lot of what happens in the film plays on the notion that you have seen the original and think you know how this will turn out because you've seen this scenario before. You think like with Malcolm being attacked by the t-rex, the assistant will turn out okay "oh, that's terrible, but the pterodactyl will drop her in the water or something" and it does but the outcome is even worst.

Why, though? Why use this character for that purpose? Because the character makes so little impression that her death just feels random and confusing. Malcolm was an important, likable character, whereas Zara is just... nothing.

Honestly, I think what they were actually referencing was the lawyer's death. But the lawyer was both clearly corrupt and slimy and also, well, a lawyer, which generally works as shorthand for "bad guy." We don't even really know what Zara's job actually is, and "babysitter" doesn't have the negative connotations that a lawyer does. If, say, Vincent D'Onofrio's character was the one to go through this sequence, it would still be over-the-top, but it would feel deserved because the character was so hateable. But because Zara is basically a non-character, it doesn't work, and what we do get doesn't make her seem like a bad person. Planning your wedding seems like a pretty decent reason for ignoring the kids for a second, and she clearly regrets doing so when she calls Claire later. Really, all they needed to do was to make her more directly antagonistic towards the kids. Like, maybe they ask to go on a ride and she snaps at them, or she doesn't let the get a popcorn or something. All she does is plan her wedding and freak out when she realizes she lost the kids, and we're supposed to feel good about her dying in such a horrible way?

There's someone I know who thinks that Jurassic World is a result of cynical corporate Hollywood, and is an insult to the audience's intelligence. The worst movie he's ever seen in 2015. And no, he never saw Jem and the Holograms or Fant4stic.

Sometimes dinosaurs eat good people. They can't all be bad.

That's what assistants do though, do stuff their boss doesn't want to do. Personally, I've never understood it. That being said she had a cool death scene but I had hoped one of the brats would get eaten. Very unrealistic that kids keep surviving being around dinos.... it really takes me out of the film. I hope this changes with the new one but doubtful.

And honestly, I don’t understand why this has been a debate. Had a male died the way she died, nobody would be batting an eye. I was more surprised to see a woman even get killed. The previous three JP films never showed a woman get eaten by a dinosaur. What’s so confusing? Dinosaurs attack and people die.

Dinosaurs aren't PC that's the problem...
