I'm not sure about this when I think about it. Usually with such campaigns you are paying up front to bring something to the market that isn't available.

I mean, if People don't want the steelbook just buy the German BD. It sounds like it is going to be the same scan etc. Doesn't it?
Yes it’s seems there are only the two scans European (from Germany) and US (exclusive Synapse for now).

So with this crowd funder as a British customer is only way to get UHD without importing. But it appears to be same UHD as Italy and possibly elsewhere in Europe.

Comes in steelbook packaging if that is important to you.

Will have exclusive extras. Again are those important to you ?

It's live. £24 plus postage for early-bird orders, £29 for normal orders. Minimum of £15,000 needed for funding.

The IndieGoGo site apparently opened 30 minutes early!

£27 for the UHD & Blu-ray Steelbook shipped to Sweden (early-bird price!) is OK in my book!!

I don't think this will reach it's goal.

They SEEM to claim that the steelbooks will be delivered regardless - beating the goal ensures better extras and a booklet.

Ah, I may stump up then.

Mind, calling 4K 'future proof' is taking the piss a bit

It's a fixed goal, so they need to meet the £15,000 target (hover over the fixed goal text).

The last line of their description reads:

Quote:
The more we raise, the better the final product will be. So, please spread the word, tell anyone you know who's a big fan of SUSPIRIA! - and also any friends who deserve to discover the frightening genius of maestro Dario Argento. Even if you can't contribute, you could help us by inviting friends to like our pages! The more attention we get, the more likely we are to reach our goal: to make your definitive edition of SUSPIRIA!

We aim to deliver the SteelBooks to all those who have pledged by end of February 2018.
So a little bit up in the air, but they seem fairly certain of a steelbook release. There was more information from them when the crowdfunding was announced, but I missed a good bit of it - does anyone else know more?

Granted, I didn't see that. I've never backed a failed crowdfunder before (in all 3 of my past experiences), so perhaps I still have that naive optimism. Still, we're at nearly £1000 and it's been circa 20 minutes so I'm hopeful. :P

Well, they are aiming to ship the steelbooks then. I once aimed a ball at a coconut at a fairground...

To be honest I love Suspiria and I'm hovering over the buy button. I just don't think it has the legs to get to 15K...

Shouldn't be too difficult to raise a mere 15,000 pounds.

The BD+DVD release will be available from normal retailers? It's just the UHD that needs crowd funding?

Yep - and the steelbook (which contains the UHD and Blu). That's why I suspect it'll be okay regardless - they're managing to hit two collector's niche with one campaign. That's it hit the time it was originally meant to be live, and we're already at 10% funded.

But then, I'm an optimist. :P

Oh, I hope VERY much we get to the goal! If numbers get distributed according to order placed (totally unconfirmed, just hoping here) I'll be getting #1

I would have been all over that Shameless bundle if I didn't already own 7 of the 9 (heh, 7 of 9) Shameless titles!

I wasn't gonna bother, as I've been a little non-plused by the screencaps I've seen online (I think for the German release), but I decided to take the plunge... I would end up regreting it, if I didn't.

Like a lot of people, I haven't gone 4K yet... but I will.
