Can anyone slap a "VHS" logo on anything or do they have to go through JVC to license the logo these days?

Not when it comes to compression or audio quality.

I’d be surprised if the audio quality on a blu release wasn’t better. I’d also be surprised if the picture quality on a blu release was better. The 4K stream with Dolby Vision looks phenomenal. It’d be extremely difficult for an SDR copy to compete with it, compression notwithstanding.

Thank you, ordered!

Will probably give the DVD copies to my niece and nephew for Christmas in order to indoctrinate them into the Stranger Things cult.

Of course, I would rather have UHD Blu-ray releases with DV including their new chroma encoding feature on the enhancement layer that is superior to the current component video architecture of UHD Blu-ray. Including Dolby Atmos remixes.

I saw one of Amazon's shows in 4k HDR and it too looked great, but the compression artifacts and banding really disappointed and brought it back down to earth. Streaming just can't cut the mustard.

Ordered 2 copies and they arrived in just 2 days to my brother's address. Now hoping to get it here soon lol

My brother was really funny when he told me he thought these were actually used old VHS tapes

I haven't heard about this edition at all before but so glad I did before it gets sold out or something.

Loved Season 1 and just finished Season 2 on Netflix. I just hope they release Season 2 in a similar Limited Edition that would go well with this one.

I held it in the store tonight. It’s a beautiful set. But in the end I just couldn’t pay $25 for a cool box. I’m probably going to regret it.

They could have stacked the Blu-ray's in a single small cardboard sleeve, no case, no artwork. I still would've paid $24.99 for the discs. Wouldn't have thought twice about it. Any opportunity to own a TV show I enjoyed on Blu-ray is an opportunity too good to pass up. How the discs are packaging is completely beside the point. To each his own naturally.

If anyone is craving more retro VHS packaging, Universal will be releasing a "Rewind Collection" in Australia. Not sure if it'll be the same dimensions as the ST release, but they look similar.

Limited to 1000 Copies of each Title

Back to the Future
Bevery Hills Cop
Breakfast Club, The
Dark Crystal, The
E.T.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Jaws
Jurassic Park
Labyrinth
Stand By Me

I wouldn't mind buying the 3-figure pack, but not for $20.
They have the individual figures for $8 each, as well. so you could pay $24.
The monster is different in the single pack, I don't know/can't tell about the kids.

edit/update: Previously I'd only seen others' photos of the single-carded Stranger Things figures. I was in a Target on Monday 11/6 that had the 3-packs and singles, and all the singles appear to be identical figures to the 3-packs, including the monster. My bad.

I was just reading the Q&A section on the product page for this at Target.com, and while this person is probably trolling, I still cracked up at the question

Just in case this hasn't been posted before, we Canadians can pick this up. Just go to Target.com and they'll transfer you to their international site. If you fine $100 worth of stuff you get $20 off of shipping. I paid $4 shipping because I bought other things to bring up the total. I ordered October 27th and received it in the mail November 2nd. Packaged in a box with bubble packs to keep it in good condition.

Okay, as a Canadian I went to the intl.target site and it wouldn't let me buy it.
It says, "This product is not available for shipments to this country". I was testing out the Target site days ago and I don't believe it did this before. What the hell?

Just finished Season 2 on Netflix, my girlfriend loves the show. Season 1 doesn't seem to be selling at all. At 2 Targets the displays are still overflowing since release. I anticipate a price drop via cartwheel soon!
