Same thing applies. It doesn't have to resemble anything from the movie. And it's not like Danny doesn't cover his face like that in the film, the artist simply added his own interpretation to it, nothing wrong with that.

Danny is the The Thing!
Got the email from BN earlier today and was very tempted to order, but I’m running out of wall space!
Very cool print!

Ignoring the obviously poorly done Danny aspect of the poster, I do like the portrayal of the Overlook and also the font for the title. But it does emphasize the inappropriate Cascades location used for the exterior shots. The cut from the drive up through the Rockies during the credits to the Mount Hood (?) shot always bugs me.

Man, it's crazy how many custom posters this movie has when you search it on Google images. I like this one:

It was just distracting and disrespectful (and a bit gross) and other people kept turning his way obviously annoyed as well. Thankfully I was still able to enjoy the film but I still wanted to walk up to the guy and shove a tissue up his nose to stop the noise.
I don't care how immature it sounds, this paragraph had me stitches haha! Sorry it happened.

Watched the film on the big screen last night. Great experience, though it reminded me that I definitely prefer the longer US cut.

I watched the UK cut last night, and I loved it. I can't recall if it's my first time seeing the shorter cut as I feel like I must have seen it before, but it's a great cut, and I feel like it tackled everything that needed to be tackled (i.e. nothing major seems to be lacking from it). I can certainly deal without all the added stuff in the beginning with Danny, or the extra scenes with Hallorann, and those blasted skeletons. I may watch the longer cut soon while I have the other fresh in my mind, just to see.

Whew that's definitely something I'd take outside, better yet get a room for to be honest!

I know many here don't like it, but I actually like it! I find it FAR better than the theatrical poster (below). And yes, I'm aware Saul Bass illustrated the poster. I have never never said something is better than a Saul Bass work, but I find his poster art for The Shining very lacking.

Yeah I have to admit this is rather odd artwork for the film.

Exactly.
Just because Saul Bass is known as one of the best graphic artists of our time doesn't mean every single thing he's done is automatically awesome. Not every Beatles or Michael Jackson song is amazing!
And if people are going to make fun of the new poster (that looks like The Thing) for fact that "light never came out of Danny's face in the movie", or that "Danny never covered his face like that", then you can say of Saul Bass's poster, "There's never been that character's face (in the T) in the movie!"
Whose face is that?!

.
