Not at all surprised, hopefully it's for the better.

My thoughts too. Disappointing but for the best I'm sure

Date has been pushed back to December 4th at Amazon UK now, though my order still says shipping on November 14th - I’m sure an email updating these details will follow shortly.

With "Baby Driver" delayed and this cancelled, it doesn't look like there's going to be any new additions to my 4K collection soon.

Yeah I was really looking forward to the week of November 1st: Baby Driver and Terminator 2 on 4K. Now nothing that week

So Sanity has this back on pre-order for release on December 6th (which coincides with the new U.K date of December 4th).

JB has it re-listed (UHD+BD/3D/BD) as coming out on 6th December.

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-...nt-day/498675/

Good news to for the 1080pBD (and futureproofers like myself). States "Brand new digital restoration" on the standard Blu-Ray.

From reading the 4K, it looks like they might have ****ed up the new transfer and smeared it with DNR

From what you say it looks like the image will be so squeaky clean we'll be able to eat their DNR off of it!
Seriously though – please tell us you're indulging in mere speculation/ unintentional fearmongering?

I assume all editions UHD, 3D, Blu-ray and DVD would be the same.

Read this about the German 2017 release that came out on Nov 23, 2017. The new digital remaster has a more softer but with a much more cleaner crisper look and less grain. Although it contains some nice new extras. Missing are most of the extras from the previous releases.

It may look a little 'waxy', but the increase in sharpness and detail is amazing. I'll still be picking it up when it's released.

Not too happy with the digital changes, but i'll have to live with it.

Like where they changed the stunt doubles head back to Arnolds in the 2017 remaster.
http://www.screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/124678

They also cleaned up and removed many of the movie mistakes that were left in the previous releases.

Comparisons are starting to show up as well.
Lionsgate: US 2015 blu-ray vs German 2017 remastered blu-ray

The increase in detail and sharpnes on the new 2017 remaster does look good.

Has any cleanup been done before this release?

I remember on the laserdisc there were wires visible when the bike drops down and when Arnie falls off the tanker. In the 2015 I just see weirdness above the bike now and no wires.

Apparently they didn't do anything to the extended scenes so those will now stick out like dog balls.

And since the extended cut is my favourite go to version of the film, I will pass on this release and stick with my previous DVD/Blu-ray editions.

The new remstered 2017 blu-ray edition has 3 version of the film

* Theatrical Version 2:17:07
* Special Edition Version 02:33:13
* Extended Special Extended Version 02:35:55

Before playing the longer Special or Extended versions it displays:

Quote:
Please note that to bring you this version of the film we had to use seamless branching. Accordingly you may notice variations in the picture, colour and sound quality in comparison to the theatrical version.
Obviously no remastering was done for the additional scenes in these versions of the film.

The German, French, UK/AU/NZ blu-ray is region B locked. It starts up with a language/country selection menu offering:

* German
* French
* United Kingdom/Australia/New Zealand

The very reason I'll pass on this edition. The extra scenes will be of a noticeably different quality and will affect my viewing pleasure.

The original BD is definitely never leaving my collection, haha. I may replace the Skynet edition with this one if it's cheap enough, mostly for the new extras (the ones on Skynet were incredibly underwhelming, especially compared to the Ultimate Edition DVD).
