Well, Just left my local Target and no dice. Only the BD set was in stock. I expected this but was very disappointed anyway. 👎👎👎

I know they're reissuing it later this year in Dolby Vision, but no release date has been indicated.

Still, this will be worth having for the 4K-DI alone.
I still reckon it'll have HDR10 at the minimum. Maybe not DV (and certainly not with ICtCp ) but deffo HDR.

If not that is pretty lame of Netflix to release a 4K which is more a collectors purchase and not to include these.
I bet it has no extras just like the Blu-ray release.

And it definitely wouldn’t have Beyond Stranger Things since that just started with season 2.

Considering that just came out with Season 2 of the show, it seems like more of a bonus feature for the the second season's set.

If you actually ask anyone that works at Target, their system only shows the 11/28 date. So unless someone he talked to just can't read, he's passing along info from here as his own sources.

Well, this is a surprise. If it had been out when the BD came out I'd have gotten it just because I don't want to support anything with a DVD if I don't have to lol Plus I'm sure eventually in the future I'll have a 4K TV and player. Should have released both at the same time since not many people are going to be able to rush out to rebuy it right away if they have the normal BD, but I guess Target wanted to do another surprise to make more money. I'm fine with the normal BD I have for now, plus I don't want to rewatch s1 after I finished s2, though I guess if nothing else I could just swap the BD discs out since I know mine work and I don't have to watch them all to be sure. Maybe for s2 they will release both at the same time.

The poster though is dumb, why include a s2 poster for s1?

Yeah the 12/5 came from me as the target I called with the sku last night told me the release was the 5th. Then others have the November date, thus me presuming any other sites have just read this thread (The guy had trouble even finding it before quoting the date).

The Target web site doesn't have a listing for the Blu-ray/4K special edition, dammit! My local Target store sucks big time, so I'm not expecting to find it there when it's released.

It hasn't been announced yet, the TC got lucky and found one in the store.

It's a Target exclusive so it should be easy to find if the first release is any indication (unless your store isn't currently overrun with copies of the Blu-ray exclusive like every Target I've been to in my area)

To make people want to watch Season 2 after they finish the first season, hoping that they'll sign up for Netflix of course!

We'll now have two folded (ugh) posters for Season 1... and neither one of them featuring the actual (amazingly awesome) Season 1 "poster" art!

I was just able to get one of these 4k editions. Just stopped by target before work tonight and they didn’t have this out on the shelf. So, I asked an employee to check their system and it showed what seemed like 20 copies. So he checked the stock room. When he came back he was a holding a copy of the 4k release. Glad I was holding off since my store had tobs of the reg bd set.

Edit: i live in Tennessee.

Wow!! So now I’m not the only one. Surprised the employee let you buy it. Congrats!

Well nothing was showing on his device not to sell it nor the box. Plus i was able to checkout without a problem. I didnt want to ask him the street in fear of not being able to get it.

Even if he isn't, it still makes sense to get this set since it includes the regular Blu-Rays anyway.

I don't have a 4K set up yet, but have been buying 4K combo packs since they started coming out. If I had known that Target was going to come out with a 4K set a month or so after the BD/DVD combo pack, I just would have waited.
