Anyone else think season two is a clear step down from the first?

I'm still enjoying it... but not nearly as much as last "semester." Belinda Brown is missed.

I think I preferred season 1 but I don't think it's the clear a step down, still really enjoying this season.

I think they're quite equal. I'm absolutely loving every second of this.

Its still a great show but there are definitely not as many laughs this season.

I totally thought goggins was gay in the show. Surprised every time I see his Korean wife.

Actually after watching the fourth episode of the season I reckon this is on par with the first season.

I preferred the first, because the overarching plotline about overthrowing Belinda was more interesting to me than this almost non-existent gunman mystery. Other than that, I think they're on par in terms of quality. It's interesting that they spent a lot of time with Gamby's family in the first season, and now we're seeing more of Russell's family. So, that's a nice shift.

Last two episodes were beyond great for me. Really bumped this season up and I can't wait to see how it ends. DGG has really done an amazing job directing it, and Goggins continues to be a national treasure.

I have only seen the first 4 episodes of season 2. Definitely think season 1 is funnier.

I was only able to watch this for a limited time I had HBO. Any idea when season 2 will come to blu? Just got season 1 on blu a few days ago.

I will too! Funnier than a lot of shows these days! Really wish they would make a few more seasons.

Pretty great finale. Steve Little as Gamby's new vice principal was absolutely perfect.

I'm really gonna miss Russell and Gamby. Hopefully that wasn't the last we've seen of them.

Yeah from what I have seen from season 2 it seemed quite a bit darker than season one.

Easily one of the most satisfying finales that I've seen. I kept wishing they hadn't made it such a short lived series from the premiere but the fact they knew how everything was going to play out really helped instead of some off the wall and rushed conclusion. It was a great show and Goggins maintains that he's one of the best out there. He stole every scene but the chemistry between him and McBride was aces. I keep seeing people mentioning how "dark" it got and I wouldn't argue that, but the way they kept the humor flowing through all of it without it being distracting and actually working in its favor showed what a talent everyone involved was. I gotta say I had to pause it when
[Show spoiler]Abbot was begging the tiger to eat her and it cut to Dayshawn (one of my favorites of the show) just exclaiming "Oh shit, here it goes"!
because I was laughing so hard. The blending of drama, craziness, and humor rarely works so well but this show was a highlight when a lot of TV these days is just downright dreadful. Can't wait to buy the blu! I hope they use an orange slipcover to contrast the blue of the first season and keep in line with the title card change.

And this is one of the highlights of season 2 for me:

"You look like death warmed over"

Sad to see the show come to an end, but happy that I can now openly talk about my experience as an extra on the show with friends and family. It was a fun set to be on, and it's awesome to see all of the behind-the-scenes work play out.

The two season arc was great, and things wrapped up perfectly. As much as I'd like to see more of the characters (and be a part of the show again), I hope HBO doesn't try to force a third season at some point in the future. If McBride and Hill have a great idea to revisit the show on down the line, I'm all for it. But short of that, I'm happy to have it as is.

That’s awesome you were an extra! Which episode were you in (which extra if you can point out)? How were McBride and the other lead (forgot his name) - good people? Seems like that show would have been a blast to work on!

A pretty good final episode in what has been an enjoyable show.

Also, it seemed fitting that
[Show spoiler]a tiger
would play some part in the finale.

I wasn’t kidding. This is the first I have heard of him. Didn’t realize his name was in the title haha. Oddly enough I happened to pop in GI Joe 2 today (going through old movies to “trim the fat”) and much to my surprise he was in it!

I thought he and McBride were hilarious together. Hope to see them both soon in something on TV.
