I just called Harmony (tech support for Geek Squad cuz I can) and the 1000 WILL do z wave. You have to buy the base station, of course (the base station comes with the 890). If you try it without the base station you can't get RF or Z wave. We've been programming these things for z wave for 2 years and only encountered issues a few times but nothing we couldn't work around. And we've done plenty of lighting systems. Lutron and others. You sometimes need Lutrons codes or remotes to learn the codes but???

FYI...Harmony gives you tech support for 60 days from when you made your log on. After that it's FAQs or pay for. Or you can have a service come out to program it. Or I guess you could just ask the forum here and get the correct info?
