Odd that they kept the colourful first Spidey one but went with the grimdark 'reimagining' for the other two. Does that set include the regular Blu-rays as well, DJR? If so what ones?

No digital and no regular Blu-rays. Would have liked to see the alternative Spider-Man 3 that was being mentioned here but I'm not too bothered about it. Would probably be a one time viewing only anyway. |

I didn't mind the recut of Spidey 3, but it can't rescue a film that's flawed at its core.
Couldn't do without the extras though, Charlie de Lauzirika worked on Spidey 2's bonus features and it's great to have them back as well as all the other stuff. Sony even included the trailers, can you believe it? They usually junk them these days. And I got a tenner for the digital code too, so my net spend for the US digibook was roughly £38 ![]() |

I hope North America gets individual releases soon. It's been years since I've seen any of these, and while they're a little on the crude side compared to the best of modern superhero flicks, they have that Sam Raimi charm and, along with X-Men and X2, were my first real introduction to superhero films as a kid.

And you can still get a leetle taste of what the recut has because the UHD has the alternate score option which apparently restores Christopher Young's intended cues instead of the hastily redone Elfman cues which were tacked on at the last minute by Sony.

It's amazing what they can do with editing software nowadays. Sarcasm aside, Chris Young's music was changed pretty late in the day, from reading up on it he'd basically scored the release version but Sony felt that it needed more identifiable cues from the first two Raimi flicks so Elfman's people came in to rescore a few bits.

I hope they release these individually.

That sounds more ethical than simply editing his score to make it fit a version he never himself did the entire score for. |

I'm saying that his score was likely conformed to the theatrical version, more or less, and it's actually the Editor's Cut which has had Young's music re-edited to fit. Otherwise I don't see the point of the random alternate score version on the UHD, i.e. if it was intended to fit the alternate cut only then re-editing it to fit the theatrical (and just for the UHD, it's not on the newly authored theatrical version BD) seems like a waste of time. It sounds more like they pulled the score and found that it matched the final theatrical version when preparing the Editor's Cut so they put it on the UHD as an Easter egg, albeit one you don't have to look very hard to find.
