This happened to one of our other guys on this forum the other week. It never came back up. Basically, it got corrupted somehow. It's like any other computer file that is corrupted. It won't open and it's gone. I had made a copy the other day, but I had to delete it because the game only lets you have a certain amount of space and it wasn't letting me save the levels I was making - so I deleted the copies. The lack of space the game gives basically cornered me into not having any backups. Either way, it's too late. There is no way I'm going to remake that level from scratch. I'm going to take down Winter Wonderland Part 1. Part 2 actually was two massive parts - I'm scrapping both of them, the corrupted one and the second half that I just finished this morning. A month's worth of work and time down the drain. |

I had thought about posting just the Boss Battle which was a finale of this level (you got a key at the end of this level - to the Boss Battle - both levels were busting the themometer).
However, in the first part (before getting to the Puzzle Wheels) you saw a city in darkness. Basically, your quest was to find the Dark Pixie who had taken the Northern lights and defeat him to return the lights to the North Pole. ![]() After going through the Dark Pixies Labyrinth - you got a key to the Boss Battle. At the end of the Boss Battle (after a lot of fights with the Dark Pixie) you had to turn on 3 switches starting massive gears which started a chain reaction - multi-colored lights rain down from the skies and a city rose up all lit up with a sun. . . The Boss Battle by itself makes no sense now. So, I can't even publish that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just the lighting alone on these took forever. There are so many lights and so many different depth levels and switches in these things - it's almost sickening to think of doing it all over again. I tried to think of how to continue Winter Wonderland, but I think it is done. Thanks for the sentiments guys. I appreciate it. |

IGN: I'll admit to being quite cynical about the Metal Gear add-on when the screens first leaked, thinking it was little more than the addition of a pretty neat costume. But playing through it today I was blown away, and the Paintinator in particular completely changes the game.
Alex Evans: Absolutely. We did that [the Paintinator] in a month of dev work and a month of wrap-up work. Kareem Ettouney: Creatively, everything we do in LittleBIgPlanet is along those lines. We want to increase what people can do and enhance their experience. It's not just more of the same. Even when we think about the smallest wig, it'll be a wig that there's nothing like in the game. Alex Evans: We know how to do user generated content pretty well now; we made mistakes but we're still learning from them. A lot of other studios are still at stage one, and we're now in the really enviable and exciting position of having the basics down and being able to ask how do we f**k people up again (in a nice way). And get ready for an OMG! IGN: Going back to the updates to the title – having seen the gun, it seems that so much is possible. There was talk – although it was tongue-in-cheek – of first person LittleBigPlanet. How far can you take the concept? David Smith: There's a certain point where we'd want to stop transforming it, there's definitely some underlying rules that we wouldn't want to violate, but from there who knows? There's nothing off the table, so something as mad as a first person viewpoint – if you think of the way you create environments, that's a radical change. But if it's something that the community wanted, we'd totally listen to that. At the moment there's so much crazy stuff that we could do within this 2.5D context, we'd like to milk that more. At this point in the interview, Alex gets up from his seat and walks to the other side of the room, leaving us feeling rather nervous. We've had some bad interviews before, but never had anyone walk out on us. He spends the next few minutes tinkering with the debug PlayStation 3 in the corner of the room. Kareem Ettouney: There are more ideas than there is time and people. We've got enough IP holders interested, and so many ideas for enhancements, tools, expansions and gadgets that we'd literally need ten years. So we are going to pick our battles and pick our priorities. The point where we feel like we've exhausted all that is when we'd add a new engine or new viewpoint. It appears we haven't lost him after all; having toyed with the camera in the debug mode of LittleBigPlanet, Alex gives us a taste of first person LittleBigPlanet, and it looks amazing. Alex Evans: There's no reason why features like this could never make it. The next few minutes are spent playing through part of a level from this new perspective; and a few others as well, as we're witness to a Gears of War style third person view. Though the 2.5D levels of LittleBIgPlanet understandably mean a first person mode is, for now, something of an eccentric proposition, it goes to show the versatility of the engine, and indeed the team at Media Molecule. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/940/940711p1.html |

You're funny dude, and no - no amount of money is worth that pain. . .

Be aware, people often complain that my levels are long. My first level is "The Garden at Midnight" (this is was just me trying things out). And then my second level was "Winter Wonderland, Part I". I was about to publish 2 follow ups "Winter Wonderland Part II, with key awarded Boss Battle" - but Part II broke. I still have the Boss Battle, but the context makes no sense now, so it's not really worth publishing. I am going to be taking down Winter Wonderland Part I in a couple of days and that will be that. However, I have decided to give level making another shot. I have to levels planned: One Level will be "The Great Race" - a multiplayer (my first multiplayer level) that will have up to 3 players racing, and trying to trap and kill (as far as "kills" go in LBP) - get the most points to win the Race. The other will be all Puzzle Wheels. There will be a quick intro level explaining some simple rules about Puzzle Wheels. After this very bried intro - you will get a key to unlock the actual level (this will leave more room on the themometer for the actual level if I break them out like this.) I was going to name the intro level Puzzle Wheels and the second level "Puzzle Wheels Gone Wild" - but fear I might get moderated if I do something like that - so, no definitive name on this one except "Puzzle Wheels" - I do hope to recreate some of the ones I've made previously. Anyway, thanks for all the positive input guys. (PS, if another level of mine ever crashes I plan on breaking the game into little bits, making a very creative mobile out of the pieces and sending it to MM.) ![]() Merry Christmas to you all!!! |

![]() Basically, I had two really fun ideas that I still want to show folks. I definitely can not fathom remaking my Labyrinth level and trying to mimic what I did before. It's like writing a short story - and having it burn. Then trying to write it again. It just wouldn't be the same. Unfortunately, this totally kills my Winter series. I'm still upset and just a little p!ssed, but I plan to make copies all the time and delete anything I collect from other people to avoid space issues. I still find it unfortunate that you are limited on what you can share/take. The only thing more depressing than losing my level (and series) is the idea of spending weeks doing the new ones. I've never done a multiplayer level and I can already see it is going to be very tricky to pull off what I want to do. And, the Puzzle Wheels are time consuming in general. Anyway, thanks again to everyone. It's time for some Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer and some time with the wife and kids. Take it easy, all. |

Merry Christmas everyone...
Is anyone having major issues since update 1.07?? Cuz I got some problems... 1. After playing through all the new MGS levels with a friend online, we both bought the level pack. We play through and finish Act 5 which gives you a bullet hole sticker switch for the first level. So we go back to the first level to get 100% and only my friend has the sticker and I do not?? So we play through and I wonder why I don't have it, finish that level again and go back out to the map and it now says I have all the goodies in Act 5 but says I never finished it! So we do Act 5 again and I get the sticker switch and go back and get 100% on Act 1.... So I think all is good and this was all on the 23rd... So yesterday when I got home from work I go to play some more of the MGS levels, and again it says I havent finished Act 5 and I dont have 100% on the levels, yet I have the trophies for 100% of the MGS stuff... So I play again go all the stuff, didnt get the trophies again though as they stayed fine. Now I get up this morning and yet again it says I havent finished them. but theres more.... 2. Yesterday I made a Bank Heist level that uses the paint ball gun, spend a few solid hours working away at it.... I saved it to my moon and was going to finish it today.... Well its gone, I know it was saved there yesterday b/c I showed my wife when she came home from work and I was playing some community levels, I quit and opened my new level on the moon and it was fine.. This morning, its just not even there.... It seems this is happening when I turn off the PS3 after update 1.07, like its not saving things when it should be.... pisses me off that my level is just gone. I know I saved it. ![]() I did a little bit of work again - guess I'll find out in a little while if my stuff saved. MM is going to glitch and restrict themselves out of business. (At least with me.) If my stuff didn't save this time - there is NO WAY IN H*LL I'm going to even start thinking about doing one more thing on this game. |

So for the levels not saving, someone on the LBP forum at the wokshop said its happening to many people, and its the save function not working anymore. I guess its a bug and if u use save it won save but if yo use save a it will....
Doesnt explain the problem with the MGS levels not recording. |

Thought you might want to see this. It's a nice, 30 minute video podcast Kotaku did with some people at MM and they talk about a range of things. If nothing else, it is good to hear their comments as they play through some user's levels.
