The only French or German I remember in either film is the couple fighting in German in the opening scene of Sunrise, and their dialogue is intentionally not subtitled, because neither Jesse nor Celine can tell what they're arguing about - it's this fact that actually sets them to talking.

I think everyone else they encounter in both films speaks to them in English, I don't remember any other German or French in either film, unless maybe there's a random line tossed off.
