Disney Coco 3D Blu-ray (2017) [Region Free]

Coco has been released worldwide on REGION FREE 3D Blu-ray - fancy editions, the regular version, the steelbook, all are confirmed as being REGION FREE, wherever you buy them from.

The only place you can't buy the 3D Blu-ray is America, where a decision has been taken by Disney to deny consumers the option to buy films in 3D. If you live in America, you have to import it, e.g. from the UK or Germany. Wherever you live, if you want the 4K disc to come with your 3D disc, then you'll have to get it from Japan, which won't be cheap.

Original post:
I was searching upcoming 3D movies and this was one I was not aware of titled "Coco", based on Mexican folklore. Seems to have similarities to "The Book Of Life". The person being interviewed about the film speaks of Disney policy and how ridiculously wrong they can be. But we all at bluray.com already know that about them. EEK!

That "trailer" must be fake. The animation looks like one of those horrible Disney/Pixar rip-offs like "Ratatoing".

Probably is. There is no reference to the "Coco" title no where in that clip. I removed the clip. Its from a short film titled ""Dia De Los Muertos" which can be seen on youtube.

Good point.

So Pixar's Coco 3D will be in theaters November 22, 2017, competing with Justice League 3D November 17.

Here's a better idea of the story:

This started last night at my local Regal cinemas but I'm probably going to wait to see it until after Thanksgiving. Perhaps Friday or Saturday.

It will, but not in the US. Pre-orders are live at Best Buy and Target with no sign of a 3D version.

Looks like another one I'll have to import from the UK. Unfortunately, Coco won't be released in the UK until January, so there will likely be a longer delay on the 3D Blu-ray. Oh well.

How ridiculous that this would be a VR showcase movie in the US but not also have a 3d release. I'm biased by book of life so am skeptical of the story being worth another foray into the same world.

Best Buy Canada has a preorder up for a 3D steelbook. Fingers crossed the US gets the same treatment.

Just got back from seeing this in 3D. It's pretty much the typical Pixar 3D with a mix of mild to medium then amps up to strong on a few scenes that makes it totally worth the upgrade. As for the story itself, I found this to be one of their best. This is one of those ones that will tug at your heart strings. Bring some tissues as most people had tears welling up. You could see them lifting their glasses and wiping their eyes.
They showed an animated short before the movie in 3D, Olaf's Frozen Adventure which wasn't so short.

If you go see this at a Regal Cinemas don't forget to ask for one of the collectible tickets.

The artwork says nothing about 3-D, though. I'd be shocked if it actually turned out to include a 3-D disc.

The J card looks to be the exact same style they used with Moana where they had the 2D steelbook and the 3D steelbook with the blue border vs the tan/yellowish border. As this movie just hit theaters I'm sure the artwork will change once it gets closer to a release date. I'm still hopeful. And if anything I'm pretty certain the UK and other regions will be getting a 3D steelbook or at the very least a 3D amaray.

As Ironic as it is, the "long" short seems even more enticing to me given that its in 3D. This better make it to disc!

This was such a great movie and so visually stunning. Pixar really outdid themselves this time. I'm surprised not many have been going to see this. Sure the 3D isn't all that strong but it definitely makes it all the better. I can see with all the vibrant colors they will be pushing for a 4K release with this one but I'll still always watch any 3D version before going with 4K if there's an option. But if no one goes to see it in 3D that's kinda making a statement to them.

Yeah, that link takes me to the Best Buy Canada homepage. Either they released something they shouldn't have, or it's gone now.

EDIT: Weird. It worked when I clicked it in my quote; but it's not allowing me to order it.

DOUBLE MODIFIER: The French version is available! https://m.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/c...-2017/M2226581

Ya I didn't bother to post a link to the French version before. Currently the English version says sold out but not sure if it was ever available to order when they first listed it. Also BB Canada doesn't ship to the US so you gotta check eBay or find someone from Canada willing to ship it to you....if it's a real listing and becomes available. I'm still holding out for a US version or if I have to I'm sure the UK will be getting a 3D blu ray.
