Default Beats by Dre headphones

Does anyone have these, and what's your opinion on them? I'm trying to figure out if they're worth the $350 that they cost. I'm a DJ so I also need them to have good bass, but I've been reading about that it doesn't have good bass. I play hip-hop so having a lot of bass is necessary.

At that price, I would just get a Sennheiser HD650.

It seems like they turn these things up in Best Buy to deafening sound to try to convince you that you are getting more sound for the money. But, I wasn't convinced at the demo and they fit odd and look stupid. Not too mention they don't fold for easy portability. So, these were a definite NO for me. I'll stick with my Sony Noise Canceling.

I know nothing about good headphones, so I read reviews of the "Beats" and found that there are wayyyyy better earphones out there for the that same price. The "Beats" are just a decent pair of headphones that look cool and that sound good to the average person who doesn't know any better. From what I've read, Sennheiser and a few other brands are the ones that you should spend your money on

If you are looking for something with good "bass", look at the Beyerdynamic DT-770. I have a pair of them, and these things pound. Go to Head-Fi.org, they will tell you they are "bass monsters".

I agree with bcq. I have them and really enjoy them. They have great bass and clairty, the noise canceling works very well, and unlike what another poster said they do fold up and have a nice storage case to carry them in. I think $350 is the highest they are worth, but they are great none the less.

I agree, if you're going to spend that kind of money, go with some high-end Sennheisers. They make the best DJ headphones. I like these though...about $100 so if you lose a pair or break a pair, it's not so painful. They bump pretty good too. I DJ electronic music though so I don't know how they are for hip-hop, but I feel like they are pretty popular headphones for all genres:

yeah forget those WAAAAY overpriced dr dre cans.

I used to DJ at clubs and master nicely sounding mixes for cd - just get the senns, sony 700's (sound good but always cracked after a few months when i had them), the technics above or the pioneers.

i've heard those red monster ones and any of these blow that set out of the water.

While I do agree these are set at a pretty high price, I am very interested in these particularly. Plus, I got a friend that works at Best Buy that can get me a really great deal on them, so perhaps with the deal, they'll be more worth it.

The beats by Dre is a very good sounding noise canceling headphone.. Bass isn't boomy like the BOSE. The bass is snappy, pretty tight, and overall good. It's still a 100 over priced..I'd look at getting DJ headphones from audiotechnica.

No. The Beats are good sounding headphones. I know better, I have/had the 650/701/770/880/990/48/595/240/340/SA5000/MDR F1
?
I think I kown what good headphones sound like..Seems people just hate them cause it's Monster. I had very low expections coming in and left impressed for NOISE CANCELING headphones.

For noise canceling headphones, no. Unless you want to spend 500 for the Sen 450.. But AT NC7 noise cancelling headphone would probably be better for 100 less.. Even Jude, the administrator on headfi gave then a pretty solid review.
