As for movies becoming purely "entertainment," I couldn't disagree with anyone more. If films were purely entertaining we would missing out on some of the greatest films of all time and instead be fed a constant drivel of mindless sensationalism, kinda like pop music. I appreciate a film like Wall-E because it takes its artform seriously and realizes that it can be a vehicle for change and a place where ideas can be expressed.
"a vehicle for change and a place where ideas can be expressed." In a children's film, in a kid's film? What kind of change?

What is change?

Give me the Webster's definition:

What is change, according to Wall*E?

The color green, humans as big fat blobs, and Fred Willard pulling a Bush, that kind of change?

Is Wall*E's appeal emotional, rather than thought? That was my question.

As for hijacking: I am responding to other posts, that relate to this topic.

Do you think X-Files 2? Is a best film of 2008? That was my response.

Also: I don't think Wall*E should be embraced as "gospel" without analysis, don't you?

Or is Wall*E, the next Jim Jones?

Note: Next time: get your facts straight. But thanks for the advice.

I thought, you could respond to these topics.

You telling me I can't.
