I finally watched my copy last night and it was enjoyable enough to pass a couple hours, but it was a major letdown. It was predictable and had no suspense, the humor wasn't funny, and it felt disjointed and rushed. I thought the CGI was pretty good, though. Basically, it was a mindless summer action flick, not something the moniker "Dark Universe" implies. I'd like to think they'll learn from this and make a slick horror movie with some of these monsters, but based on this and Dracula Untold (which I thought was abysmal), I'll be surprised if they don't churn out something else similar is scope.

Watched the 3D Bluray and it was an improvement over the 2D. Certainly appreciate the fact that they opted to allow ATMOS on the 3D disc (unlike certain others who feel they need to downgrade the audio for 3D!) and the overall movie was a 5.5/10. It started off well but they went off on too many tangents towards the middle and the final act lacked focus.

As a 3d experience it was great in several set-pieces but definitely not consistently great as some of the top discs....but if you were to choose between 2D & 3D I would go with 3D because of the better immersion during those set-pieces.

In general I don't get the point of shooting on film and converting to 3D, and this was another example of that. The IMAX 3D was underwhelming aside from the plane crash. Honestly only Jurassic World jumps to mind as a film-based shoot that looked great in 3D, but there might be others I'm forgetting.

I can't believe I wasted my time on this giant turd of a film! WOW!!!

I was powering through it by rolling my eyes through most of it, hoping this train wreck would suddenly turn into some semblance of a good movie, but nothing happened! Even the Dolby Atmos soundtrack was subpar. I had to watch Tron: Legacy immediately after and watch up to the light cycle race to remember how a good movie sounds!

So you had to put in a movie that on blu-ray has horrific issues due to distortion from a screwed up audio track with loudness pushed to high? This fyi was done for/to the blu-ray and is not how it was theatrically.

By the way Universal never region encode their movies so mostly a region free movie here in 3D.
Confirmed this is region free? I know you're saying "mostly" but before I purchase, I wanted to be 100% sure. Thanks!

Quite boring for a Tom Cruise & Mummy movie, couldn’t even finish it. Unfortunately my copy from Amazon came with the DVD missing, so I can’t trade it

I finally saw this last night and didn't hate it. It was solid for a mindless monster pic. Maybe my expectations were so low that I was ok with a really bad movie, but I didn't find it any worse than some of the other subpar blockbusters of the last couple years.

The ending wasn't rock solid, but I dug the action.

Yeah I had a great time with this, I've watched it 3 times now. Lose some of the lame humour and the Vale character and it would be a lot better. I think it looks amazing though, wish more big budget movies would shoot on film.

Saw this on Saturday and thought it was great. Fantastic action/horror movie in the vain of the Brendan Fraiser Mummy. Not mind blowing but does every movie have to be?

Yeah, its not a thinking man's movie nor is it super scary, but it did have some really dark and creepy parts blended with typical solid Tom Cruise action... and a little bit of that X-MEN feel blended in. All in all was just a lot of FUN which is just fine with me.

Sad that the Dark Universe is in jeopardy and that this movie appears misunderstood and/or not marketed correctly - or perhaps just timed poorly in theatrical release date.

I've watched my 4K copy twice and didn't notice any audio issues.

This BD looks horrible I had to turn it off after 10 minutes because it was so bad. I watched a version where someone had got rid of the blanket yellow tint and it looked much better. These BD producers need to stop adding blanket yellow and teal tints to these movies.

No someone got rid of the revisionist yellow on the actual blu-ray disc. Just search the Mummy blanket tint and you will see what I mean.

Any confirmation on whether the UK 3D version will work in Region A players? There is a version on US Amazon that says "All Regions" but I have a feeling it is an import of the UK version... But not sure about that.
