So I didn't check this topic , seems like I was missing some action in here. To be honest I was upset with the last habs game. Two disallowed goals and 3 early calls when the goalie doesn't even have control of the puck is reason to make me mad about it.

Going back on topic , I believe Conklin is a very capable goaltender and Osgood has definitely been showing "I just won a cup " play and doesn't have the same intensity. He was pretty good in the stretch for you guys last year, wasn't he?

As for Halak, back off , he's ours

That being said, Halak deserves a #1 shot somewhere soon. The kid is scary good and is overshadowed by how good Carey Price is here. The team started showing up for Halak when Price got hurt and you saw Halak step up his game. His rebound control definitely needs improvement but the kid is good. If we lost Halak to get something good in return i'd be all for it , but I haven't yet seen Marc Denis this year in the nhl so I can't lose halak yet.

5 goals against in the past span... that being skewed cuz 4 goals were in one game...

On another note, Datsyuk is going absolutely nuts...another 2 goals!

, somebody pinch me because i can not believe how good this bruins team is playing.

Really it has not been this good here since the Neely years! And imo it has alot to do with Mr. Neely up in the luxury box every night! He said day one when he took his job that the years of non tough no emotion teams were done in boston, and he would not stand for it. I got to believe with how he left it out on the rink every night when he played is the same way he takes his managment position, full speed ahead and not taking @#@! from anyone!

They are going nuts along with the Sharks. The Wings are coming though!

I'm hoping the Avs can pull off another semi-miracle against the Wings on Saturday.

I'm still surprised they beat them the first game.

i wish your team the best... i like Wolski a lot as a player...

but being w/o Sakic and now losing Stastny are going to be hard to overcome...

Bruins have been awesome... every time i catch one of their games, its a fun watch...

bummer to see Sturm hurt tho...
bigger bummer about Bergeron, had a tough year last year and hes hurt again...

Yeah... injuries suck. The past few seasons it seems they have plagued the Avs too. oh well, part of the game

It's amusing to see people post only when their team wins.

No mention of the Caps and Rangers game? Rangers = Epic Fail. They were up 4-0 and ended up loosing the game. Talk about a Caps come back.

Datsyuk is Russian... not Ukrainian...

hes no where close to being Ukrainian...
he was born in Sverdlovsk, USSR which is a major city in the central part of modern Russia...

Yes, I know. But his last name is Ukrainian. My guess is that his grand (grand) parents were sent to Siberia by Stalin, ant then settled in Sverdlovsk, or migrated voluntarily.

Also, Keith Tkachuk has Ukrainian roots because his has Ukrainian last name. And his father is actually Ukrainian.

going on that... there are a lot of Polish players in the NHL...
but one officially... that being Wolski from Colorado, was born in Poland...

Rafalski on the Wings is Polish... but born in the US... so American...

Well i'm excited that the holiday break is over for the NHL. I get to see my HABS play tomorrow night wearing my brand new jersey given to me for Christmas. Who is on the back of the jersey? The most underrated defenseman on the habs lineup (and is up there for the entire east) Josh Gorges.

I can't speak for the West as I don't get most West games up here. Can't wait

ps: Burke should be having fun win the leafs pretty soon , I wonder who's gone. Probably Kaberle if I had to guess.

If I had to pick a team that could win the cup... I'd go with the Black Hawks... they are great! Maybe not this year but very soon I bet... that got all the pieces and as these young guy get better... watch out.

What!?! No mention of the Red Wings losing to the Preds? Conklin played pretty good but Dan Ellis came up HUGE in that game.

i havent mentioned anything yet cuz ive been @ work all day...

great job by the Preds and Ellis... that Datsyuk save won them the game...

bigger bummer for us than the loss is that Lidstrom suffered an ankle injury... i hope he is back soon...
