The devs also went out of there way to say the trailer that people thought suggested she had PTSD was not that, rather an impatience in wanting to get back out there exploring and adventuring. She enjoys killing quite a bit as well and nothing in Rise of the Tomb Raider suggests she has PTSD regarding what happened in the first game.

The moment after her first kill is a really great moment, but I don't think they will have something quite ass brutal and unhappy in the film. We shall see though. She then progresses from someone who is confident, to someone who is confident and able (and likes killing maybe a little to much).

^ Strongly recommend people not watch the definitive edition, the face and its animation is frequently off from what is in the original game which suited what was happening far better.

Fair enough maybe the devs decided to leave out certain cutscenes, but when the devs were talking about the sequel, a ''traumatized'' Lara was always brought it.

Besides, they likely left that stuff out because a whiny Lara was always one of the most disliked things about the 13 game.

Besides the title is "Tomb Raider" which is rather vague for the general public.

Yeah, the novels (which take place in between the 2013 reboot and Rise) explore Lara's PTSD, but there's little to nothing in the actual games to suggest it. The reboot was commonly criticised for having Lara crying over her first kill, then slaughtering men like cattle in the next five minutes. I can't say I minded, though. I like Lara best when she's shooting the **** out of everyone.

I do love that one bit in which Roth tells Lara her first kill must've been tough, to which Lara responds with something like, 'It's surprising how easy it was.'

I'm probably one of the few that enjoyed the two Jolie films. I also enjoyed the 2 reboot series games but I'm not sure about this film.

I was waving the flag for this film prior to that first trailer. I liked the idea of Vikander as Lara in a film that resembled the recent rebooted games, but that first trailer has seriously dampened much of my enthusiasm.

I felt that besides Jolie in the first 2 films, the movies themselves were rather meh. Kind of what I'm expecting here, although I have a love/hate relationship with Alicia. She's a cutie for sure, but she always seems to annoy me with all her characters.

I'm all for a good TR film but this girl is so not Laura Croft. Jolie barely fit LC in the first film but at least she was sexy. The new boney no figure or sexy Laura is so stupid.

Eh, to be honest I have a hard time equating Reboot Lara with the actual original Lara, so calling her Laura is fine with me. She's an entirely different, far inferior character.

I think they made progress with her character in Rise. Obviously I don't ever expect her to be exactly the same as Classic Lara (it defeats the point of a reboot). But yeah, it'd be nice if they injected her with a bit more personality. Shadow has been described as Lara's 'defining adventure,' so I'm curious as to what direction they go in. Presumably it'll be the culmination of Lara coming into her own as a tomb raider, something they've been teasing for two games.

Looks like the second trailer will be arrive soon - it was rated by Consumer Protection BC a few days ago.

Just re-watched the first trailer. Still think it looks like a big ball of cheese, but I reckon it'll be entertaining at the very least.

Although chances are slim I'd wish this had an R rating going by the M-rated reboots.

They could definitely pull off some savage bloody combats.

I had major interst in this at first but especially with what that trailer showed... it's not what I wanted considering what their main source of inspiration was. Cuz that reboot game was awesome. Sure the gameplay and the Lara Croft characterization didn't mesh in the narrative but dang it was a good game. *I kill many men as Lara... cutscene.... Lara is stressed about killing people....huh?*

"Normal" person... so normal is that killing will F a person up? Not sure about that but okay. The new game was okay and all that's not my issue. My issue is the actress they are using. That's all. Am I petty due to it, maybe. If the film is fun then I'll check it out. It's not like the Jolie one's were awesome. I just find it ironic how instead of having a bit more filled out actress they went the anorexic model type.... I mean curves are unrealistic yet boney isn't? Hmm...
