I voted for the Departed. But honestly, I don't own any of these and would rather have voted for: "None Of The Above".

The Departed is one of my favorite movies of all time. I could watch it every day. You can't go wrong with The Departed.

Departed
Goodfellas (a very close second)
Casino

That's as close a first-second as i can think of when comparing titles. love them both, from the first time i've ever seen 'em.

Just because American Gangster is a true story doesn't make the ending better. Some may say I shouldn't talk about stuff I don't know, but here I go anyway. (I don't want to watch it again) I only saw it once, so my memory may have many holes, but I thought there was something about Denzel Washington testifying against his brothers/cousins along with other gangsters to reduce his time. Or was it by confessing to his crimes he got his family in hot water also?

Being a hard core gangster in the beginning of the film and then working with police may be closer to reality than Al Pacino blasting away with his little friend, but it just seemed like too much of a characteristic change. A complete turn around.

Also, to me he sure seemed buddy-buddy with Russel Crowe, who picked him up outside of the prision, didn't he?
it might be a characteristic change, but that's what happened in real life. if in real life, he went on a killing rampage, that's how the movie would have ended.

i own all three of the movies and love all of them as well. my favorite though is casino. it never gets old for me. you could also just draw the titles out of a hat and you'd be happy with whatever you went home with.

Tough call between Casino and The Departed. I'd give a slight edge to The Departed if I was forced to choose. But again, very tough call.

American Gangster's a good movie too, but it's not on par with the other 2, IMHO.

The Departed. Ending is fantastically awesome. A lot of awesome lines by Walberg like the "you calling us cun*s" line, and "f*cking your mother" arguement with Alec Baldwin.

I'm not saying the end should have been different or a change in reality should have been made to make it more hollywood. American Gangster just wasn't my cup of tea. For a gangster movie ending it wasn't great, for a police drama it is a little better.

Real life ending with guns blazing that I enjoyed, Bonnie and Clyde.

My vote is for American Gangster. You would be happy with Casino as well, it has alot of lines in it that crack me up. I didn't like Departed all that well. I was really liking it and then towards end I didn't like what ended up happening.

out of the bunch i liked Casino the best. American Gangster was ok and The Departed is just ok, i mean, it wasn't bad but the premise was definately not what i was expecting so it was just a meh and i thought it was overrated because it won all those oscars...i think Goodfellas should have gotten those instead 19 years ago.
