Koyaanisqatsi is an amazing experience, thought-provoking, with the capability of sharpening your worldview. I was first shown it in a film class (the full-frame version, too) and I'll never forgot it.

The other two films aren't as epic, but I still think the set is worth it if you wait until a sale. Best way to experience Koyaanisqatsi - Turn out the lights, crank up your receiver, and give your ideological mind a rest for awhile...then just come out on the other side.

Picked up Rosetta last night, and La Promesse tonight Both Dardenne brothers movies will show up Friday. So, I'm very exited.

I hate to sound like a "fanboy" but I am so glad that we have someone like Criterion to put this sort of stuff out. Anyone who looks at my collection will realize that I love my comic book movies, I love my teen comedies, I love all sorts of movies. Whatever. I think fun is fun.

But these films move me, and sure I would love to watch Mean Girls but I also love Two Days, One Night. It's a question of what I'm feeling like in the next hour. I really don't get why everyone makes these lines -- these borders -- between what we should like or not. Godard might be my favorite director, but that doesn't mean that I can't laugh my ass off as something as idiotic as Eurotrip.

I'm glad I picked up L'eclisse in store during the sale last month. It appears to be out of print for real. Prices are jacked up on Amazon and it's not for sale on the Criterion site.

Ironic since Koyaanisqatsi itself is a heavily ideological movie, much like Leni Riefenstahl's films.

That's what I'm hoping will happen. It was the only one of the three films to be released as a dual format issue. I don't want to drop a small fortune to add it, so I'm hoping that it will come out soon as a blu only.

It wouldn't be a rights issue, I'm pretty sure, as the other two films are still plentiful.
