It looks like they put the blue sticker on the top right corner. There will be weeping and clutching of pearls.

It is on the mock-up, the actual release may be different though it really is sad there are people who will be / are shocked by a cartoon depiction of female human breasts.

You will never see flower arrangement the same way again. The opening credit sequence should look stunning on BluRay. Instant buy for me. There is that shot in the movie which is probably one of my all time favourite is when Michelle Pfeiffer turns to the camera with so much joy in her face and Scorsese just drowns the screen with bright yellow. That ending, the window, very heartbreaking. Seriously a visually stunning movie.

In all seriousness, they cut the media section in half at one of my local B&Ns in order to expand the toy section. I've truthfully never seen anyone in the toy section there. There's usually almost no one under 50 in this B&N outside of the people who work there. At 30, I'm usually the youngest guy in there by a good 20 years. Yet they thought it would be good to hack off the media section. When I went to buy Criterions last month, it was me and two other dudes in about a six foot area looking at the two shelves. Way to go, B&N!

Same here, I always have been a huge pre-Code fan and many of them are unknown, but quite good. For example, I've always wanted to see Three on a Match because of the Joan Blondell publicity still

Blondell is great in it, as she is in pretty much everything, but if this is a promo shot for Three on a Match, it's a very misleading one. It may have been used for it, but it's got nothing to do with the story, where Blondell plays upstanding and kind-hearted during Ann Dvorak's quick slide to the wrong side of the tracks.

I think it was meant more to grab attention and less about worrying whether it is related to the movie as many of the pre-Code promo stills were.

Thanks for jogging my memory on The Mysterious Island. I remember seeing the B&W print on TCM some years ago. I hope that WAC gets around to it at some point.

It was on YouTube; not sure if it still is but it's really just a minor B film that happened to get this iconic poster. As someone mentioned, Zita Johann of The Mummy fame is the star. She did very few films since she considered movies to be a big step down from the stage. I'll always be grateful to her though for the Princess outfit she wears at the end of The Mummy.

As you say, Three On a Match is really Dvorak's film and she's terrific. She's one of those actresses who flourished in the pre-code era but then faded. In Dvorak's case, her clashes with her bosses didn't help.

I do wish Criterion would go ahead with whatever that mystery pre-code title was they were rumored to be considering. There are lots of good titles out there.
