None. But they license to Kino and Criterion.
It may take most of 2018 for this deal to close. We will not know the full effect of this takeover for at least 2 years. The AT&T takeover of Time Warner has been dragging along for a year, with no end in sight. I don't know what will happen as much as anyone else. But I do not think the the agreement Fox made with Twilight Time is high on Disney's agenda to dismantle. |

Especially now that we know the President spoke with Rupert before the Disney/Fox deal was announced to make sure Fox News wasn't being sold, mentioning these two deals in the same breath with regards to how long they may take to close intimates a false equivalency. I seriously doubt the DOJ is going to sue to stop the Disney acquisition given that, unlike the AT&T/Time Warner transaction, it appears Rupert has the President's blessing. |

None yet to Twilight Time. And I can't at the moment think of a mainstream Walt Disney Productions title they've licensed to anyone for BD -- I'm sure someone else will point out some -- but they've licensed ABC Films and Touchstone titles to Kino Lorber Studio Classics and (a while back) to Echo Bridge. I would expect that they'd be treating the Fox catalogue more akin to the ABC and Touchstone catalogs than the WDP catalog.

And it seems to me we've all seen examples wherein it's almost inherent in this this kind of m & a that pre-existing relationships are axed. It doesn't have to be "high on [the] agenda." It happens in due course; it's the nature of attrition. Ironically, I've received word from Twilight Time: They have (already) ended their relationship with MGM. The December 2017 releases will be their last MGM titles. Last edited by Paul.R.S; 12-18-2017 at 06:47 PM. |

Is the other person who edits the Twilight Time wikipedia page here?
I wanted to reach out to them because I keep having to erase the My Cousin Rachel listing they keep adding. Because it was a DVD release it is listed at the top of the list for both DVD and BD, which is why it doesn't need to be listed again with the other three new January 2018 titles. Thanks! |

As far as the rest of your reply to me, yes, it's possible that they will cancel all preceding licensing contracts, but we don't know for sure. What I really should have said is that if they continue the Fox contracts with TT, Kino, Criterion, and whoever else, they'll probably treat the catalogue the same as the subsidiary catalogs they already own rather than the mainstream WDP catalog. |

I didn't see that.

We're/you're kinda muddying the waters, at least as far as my point to a different member was/is concerned, with bringing up the WDP catalog. WDP titles are so strongly associated with the Disney brand that it's silly IMO to even bring up their being licensed. My point is largely that the historic absence of any licensure to TT by Disney is IMO a strong indication that Disney is not somehow going to permit license of Fox titles to TT once Disney likely closes the Mouse-Rupert deal just because the Fox execs about to get fired in that deal entered a licensing agreement a few years ago. |

I’ve never heard of TT before. Looks like a useful way to find some rare titles I’m interested in. I guess I’ll have to find 9 to 5, The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie, and Philadelphia secondhand, though, if they’re OOP.

Good! The transfer MGM provided for HOUR OF THE GUN is quite mediocre. The sales vs licensing fees must be terrible.

Shouldn’t there be an “add to cart” option on the film’s TT page if it’s still available?

http://www.screenarchives.com/ I picked up that particular title during the last sale for $9.95. If you are willing to wait until the next sale, you can probably get it for the same price. |

I watched the BD of "Who'll Stop the Rain" after catching it on TV about 5 or 6 years ago. Wow, what a film that is. Just incredible. It manages to make a profound statement about the way we treat military vets without being simplistic, which modern films seem to be completely incapable of doing. It's a nuanced, fascinating piece of work. The entire cast is great. Nick Nolte, Tuesday Weld and Michael Moriarty are outstanding as the three leads. Richard Masur and particularly Ray Sharkey just exude sleaze in memorable supporting roles. And Anthony Zerbe does a brilliant job as a crooked cop. The incredibly underrated director Karel Reisz manages to tie a number of different elements (friendship, love, drug addiction, coming back from war, violence) together beautifully. If you haven't seen this film, please check it out.
