Jumanji should do well, actually, along with The Greatest Showman.
Father Figures is a bomb.
Downsizing is 50/50. Could be modest or not. Same for All The Money In The World.

I don’t know how my local theaters are going to add all these new movies just days after the Last Jedi’s opening. It’s insane just thinking about the division of auditoriums, when TLJ will still be the most popular of the bunch.

Jumanji might be the second highest grossing after TLJ, then maybe PP3 and The Greatest Showman. The trailers for the last two films really turned me off, but who knows.

This will be the weekend when JL starts to drop behind Ragnarok on a daily basis

Justice League will be losing 59% of its theaters this Friday as many new films gobble up screens for the long Christmas weekend. New count will be 1,101 dropping below Thor: Ragnarok which will be in 1,573 despite being an older film.

Downsizing has been tracking in the low $10 million range, no way it will surpass Pitch Perfect 3. And Ferdinand will probably hold better than Justice League.

Rogue One did $96 Million over the Friday to Monday 4-days last year (which also included X-Mas Eve and X-Mas). And by comparison, The Last Jedi is only making $3 Million more per day on both Monday and Tuesday. So a $110 estimate is probably a good one. Might do as high as $120 Million for the 4 days.

Why would you expect Pitch Perfect to do THAT badly?

Badly? I'm just estimating here, although to be fair I hated the second film so I definitely have a bias against the franchise.

The Last Jedi will take the holiday weekend, followed closely by Pitch Perfect 3.

The Force Awakens had about a 40% drop from the first weekend to the second.

If The Last Jedi makes $100 Million for the 3-day weekend (which I think is a high estimate, that would be a 55% drop. I honestly think the drop will be closer to 60%.

By comparison, Batman v Superman, had a 69% drop in the first weekend.

Could be an interesting weekend....

My bet is that Pitch Perfect 3 is #2 at the box office.

of course when you have 5-6 movies out in one week alone. Some should have moved up to the week before Star Wars. All that came out was the Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones were old movie. Which is out of most theaters already.
