Pure speculation on my part, hope it will come true though.
It's not possible. Sony is still calling the Z9D their flagship 2018 model. The new X1 Ultimate processor chip is a prototype, and it's specifically designed to power 8K, along with 10,000 nits. So this new chip with 8K processing capabilities won't ever be paired with a 4K display. Sony is only replacing the Z9D with a future 10,000nit/8K monster display.

Now that Apple is behind AV1 codec, what happens if streaming goes 8K/10,000nit mastered Dolby Vision? What if UHD Blu-ray got stuck with a lesser form of Dolby Vision? Does the BDA spec need to be updated for 10,000 nit mastered content, I wouldn't know. AV1 will blur the lines between streaming and disc a bit further though, as it's 25% more efficient than HEVC.
