Default Let's Play Pretend!
So, 99.9% of you people pretend to be film experts, I read stuff like "GRAIN IS GREAT!", "OAR ONLY!", "RESPECT THE DIRECTOR'S VISION!", etc.

Now, let's say that a new Director makes a low budget film with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Because of his budget he has to use cheaper film stock that causes more grain than he wants. He also plans on cropping the image to 1.77:1.
Now that film is picked up to be distributed by a major studio. The studio wants to release it as 1.85:1 but will use DNR with Director's approval.

How would you want it released?
