multi-disc Blu-ray player - Blu-ray Forum

Hello Folks,

I am new to the Forum (any forum, for that matter). Please bear with me.

I am interested in finding out if there is a multi-disc Blu-ray player in the market, or if there is one in the works. I currently own a Sony DVP-NC85H, 5-disc player, that has been very useful for switching between kids' and grown-ups' movies without having to change the disks all the time, as with single-disc players.

First off welcome to the forum!

At the moment there aren't a whole lot of multi-disc options. I'm only aware of the behemoth Sony Home Entertainment Center (HES-V1000) which can hold 200-discs.

OP-I don't know of any in the makings as of right now. I don't know why.

LOL.

I know that the probability is awfully small but I didn't want to speculate and assume that this was out of the member's price range. For all we know this could be chump change.

On another note, info on multi-disc players could be released at next week's CES. We'll have to wait and see.

Yea but is that a BD multi disc or justa DVD multi disc.

Sony is working on a 400 disc BD changer. Here is the news article from this site. I'll be all over this unit as my first stand alone BD palyer.

I do remember reading that a few months back.

In the past they have offered an ES model (for beaucoup de cash $$$) as well as a standard model. I just hope they offer profile 2.0, SACD playback, and some type of auto disc info menu for DVD/CD/BDs.

Thanks all for the info and recommendations. I had seen the 200-disc changer in the Sony-style website... It is pricey, and I think also a bit too big for my household. I am looking for something a lot smaller, like 5- or 10-disc changer.

I will follow up the CES and see what is unveiled there, and continue visiting this website and forum to keep up to date with anything related to Blu-ray.
