Looking for advice on a fun Multiplayer game!

Can you guys tell me which games you've had a blast playing online with a friend/friends. How about COD 4 or 5?

COD 4:MW seems to be THE game of choice for largest online multiplayer fun. And Warhawk.

For a shooter game (FPS) I'd pick Resistance 2 for sure!!

Warhawk is an awesome split screen (up to 4 players at once) arcade style shooter, LOT of fun but hard to pick up at first.

LittleBIGPlanet is also a REALLY fun multiplayer (up to 4 players) game. It's not splitscreen but rather a side scrolling platformer.

All three of those would be great choices.

Nono, I hate playing on the same TV, unless it's NHl or Madden or Soccer...

I need a multiplayer game that will be fun between 2 people, both from their own house/tv..I need something smart with some challenge no baby stuff like street fighters....

For multiplayer shoot-em-ups...COD4 is king.

I personally found CoD4 bland and boring. the Dolby Digital audio was bad, and the graphics were meh. Single player was fun though. I also found the online pretty lame as well. Too bad Resistance 2 totally copied (and improved) a lot of it.
For a shooter, id wait for Killzone 2. For fun, LittleBigPlanet.

But hey, to each their own.

Call Of Duty 4. Haven't played the COD5 multiplayer officially, but I had the beta and didn't care for it much. But COD4 delivers.

From what you described LittleBigPlanet is the right choice, take this from someone who plays resistance and COD daily!!! LittleBigPlanet is tons of fun especially multi player and can get very challeging at times

How about something that starts everyone off on equal ground?

Everytime I play multiplayer I whip everyones butt because i'm just too good. Something like bomberman would be fun. There is a big hole in PSN for just these types of games. Something everyone can pick up and play and have an equal chance of beating everyone else.

Buzz and Singstar fits that quite nicely.

BTW bomberman is coming to PSN sometime next year.

My votes for non-competitive online mulitplayer go to:

Resistance 2 (first person shooter with co-op campaign mode)

Rock Band 2 (THE best music/rhythm game on the market)

LittleBigPlanet (My personal Game of the Year 2008, so cute it'll induce insulin shock, but so fun that you won't care)

For competitive online multiplayer, the clear winners are:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (FPS)

Soul Calibur IV (beat-em-up)

Buzz! Quiz TV (quiz show, if you're into that sort of thing)

I'm 34, I cant play little planets lol. Will probably just buy COD 4 and 5, resistance multiplayer was too much like a quake type of multiplay, surprised there's no real multiplay challenge yet, like an mmo or something in between, mostly dumbed down stuff still...it's almost 2010......

Hey, jsut noticed that Co-Op campaign option might be fun in Resistance 2.,

Dont like the whole rock band and stuff either..
