Default PS3 Game Purchase Advice

So i'm a new PS3/ Blu Ray Owner, just haven't had the money until recently, I bought Uncharted: DF and Resistance: FOM with it, I've always been an XBOX 360 Owner, and Nintendo Wii, and have enjoyed both platforms and was skeptical about the PS3 games, after buying 2 exclusives for the PS3 and beating them on the hardest difficulty, I am in love. Both games had great gameplay and storyline IMO, are there any other current exclusives you would recommend purchasing? I am NOT a "renter" I am a collector purchase all my movies and games. My question is, if there are any of you who feel the same way about these two titles, are there any other current exclusives you would strongly recommend? (Also new register to the forums, but been browsing since i was considering ordering a PS3, so hello everyone!)

As have been stated Ratchet and Clank and Heavenly Sword are both great games.

After that save $60 for June 12th

You'll probably enjoy Ratchet & Clank, so I'd check that out.

For racers, GT5P is a good exclusive.

Heavenly Sword is pretty nice overall.

Lair is so-so. The music is great, but it just didn't impress me that much. It's a good rental unless you can find a copy for $20 or less.

Check your local Targets. Lair has been on clearance for $14.98. I found one but didnt pick it up...I regreted it and went back less then 12 hours later and it was gone.

Ordered Ratchet and Clank since that seems to be the consensus, currently looking for a great deal on Heavenly Sword and as far as those of you recommending Lair, i've checked the reviews on the game, why is it getting such bad reviews?

Heavenly Sword is good, but you can beat the game in about 6 hours or so. I would still recommend it though. I have not played R&C but hear good things. I cannot think of any other exclusives right now.

Also remember there are some good exclusives coming out this fall. MGS4 maybe being the start of this on June 12. Or Ninja Gaiden 2 on June 2nd if you are going to get that on your 360.

95% of the reviews it was given are from when it first came out. When it first came out the controls were only sixaxis and apparently made the game more then frustrating to play. So much so that Sony released an update patch with standard Analog controls that make the game a LOT easier to control and play and therefore take away almost all of the complaints of the reviewers and critics.

Liar got bad reviews for controls and i believe the aiming system. There was a patch in mid-april that added analog controls (previously you controlled the dragon only with Sixaxis motion controls) and a fix for the targeting system along with Dual Shock 3 support. I have heard mixed reviews on Liar but did not give it enough time myself to say stay away or buy it. Most game sites and mag's gave Liar bad reviews.

Going by exclusives only:

Warhawk - At first I didn't like it, but I'm getting the hang of it lately, I saw it once for $40 brand new with the headset at Target.
NGS - Enjoyed the demo, am waiting for a price drop before I get it, it might not be exclusive enough for you if you played the NG or NGB though.
UT3 - Rented it, but might actually buy it once I finish my backlog of games
Hot Shots Golf 5 - Yeah I know it's a golf game, I hate golf, but love this game, go figure
MLB 08 The Show - If you like baseball, this is the best baseball game I've played since that EA one on PS2
GT5P - Personally after some long hard thinking, I'm gonna wait for GT5, but this game is great as it is and is getting a patch soon for damage and better online community
Singstar - If you like singing.
Motorstorm - Very fun and I've seen it for 30 bucks, but personally I'd wait for Motorstorm 2 since it looks better, more tracks, more vehicles, more options, more robust online, split screen and better load times.

And of course MGS4 on June 12th, you really cannot miss out on that gem.

In someway, you're lucky for being a latecomer.

For most of us here, along with other PS3 fans worldwide, we've been waiting for MGS4 ever since it was announce. Which was like 3-4 years ago! That's a long wait. But i'm sure it'll be worth it.

The wait is almost over.

Although it is not PS3 exclusive, Grand Theft Auto IV is certainly worth picking up if you want to cause massive amounts of mayhem in a virtual New York City.
