Hey guys,
Okay so I have almost 60 movies now and ready to step into the gaming world with my PS3. Please tell me what are the easiest games to begin my quest. I have played video games in my past life but nothing lately. I like role playing games and lot's of blood is okay also. The sports games are in my future but not now. Please help a newbie get started. Thanks for all advice. Ciao. ![]() ![]() |

If you like fast-paced action, adrenaline-pumping, demon-hunting game, then go with Ninja Gaiden Sigma. A similar caliber game, Devil May Cry 4, will be in store Feb 6.
Actually log in to your PS3 Network store and download the demos for those 2 games to get an idea this is DMC4 gameplay video in youtube, it's so kick-ass http://youtube.com/watch?v=jqEQM6x5sMM Last edited by Petra; 01-27-2008 at 03:09 AM. |

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
It's the 2006 game of the year. And the best RPG I've ever played. With more than 300 hours of gameplay, it's the best bang for your buck as far as PS3 games go |

If you like RPGs, you owe it to yourself to pickup Oblivion, awesome game with tons and tons of world to explore. Make sure you get the Game of the Year edition that comes with the Shivering Isles expansion! The game is pretty complex, like most RPGs.
Otherwise, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, or try Heavenly Sword. |

The titles I would recommend to someone with 60 Blu-rays and 0 games would be:
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Dazzling eye candy and great cutscenes/acting that will warm the heart of any dedicated movie-lover. Oh, and it happens to be a fantastically fun game, too. ![]() Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Ever watch a Pixar movie and want to interact with it? That's the experience that R&CF: ToD offers. Incredible real-time CGI and excellent gameplay, and a lot of laughs along the way. Highly recommended! Super Stardust HD (PlayStation Network download) Pick-up and play shoot-em-up that's fast paced, addictive, and amazingly beautiful all at the same time. EDIT: Whoever suggested Ninja Gaiden Sigma above need to be slapped. That game is hard even for gaming veterans, let alone complete newcomers. Do NOT buy Ninja Gaiden Sigma if you're new to gaming (ditto for Devil May Cry 4). Last edited by Icemage; 01-27-2008 at 01:24 PM. |

Like you, I use my PS3 primarily for movies. I do game occasionally, but a game has to have a compelling story, outstanding production value to keep my interest (of course it has to be fun too).
If you have a PS3 with backwards compatibility with the PS2 (20GB, 60GB and 80GB PS3), then I highly recommend both God of War games (for PS2). These are fun games with a compelling story. Also, like any good movie, there are a lot of behind the scenes and making of extras included on a 2nd disk for both games. I will have to try Uncharted, as I have heard good things about it. I also have Resistance: Fall of Man. While it is a fun game, it hasn't really kept my interest. I still haven't finished the campaign mode yet (I don't do online very much, so I haven't played the R:FOM multi player. |
