I hope HMV's listing is incorrect in its assertion of this being 2 discs. (Unless, of course, Universal replicate the extras on the first disc of the regular blu on the UHD and then chuck the first regular blu disc out.)

I've only seen bits and pieces of this once, so I'm in. I'm still excited about 4k. There are enough good to great releases that knowing you'll get a version possibly better looking and sounding than the theater.

I've even bought releases that I've marginally liked or already owned and seen a bunch of times (like Mummy) just because I knew the quality would be high.

I already did. Got the UK release. One of my favorite melodramas. It's just....perfect.

I really hope they don't screw up this release.

Is there a master list of blus with 4k masters?

Suck me sideways this is epic! This is going to look incredible. The beginning battle alone in HDR is worth whatever price they charge.

This will make my 5th time buying it, but I am still keeping the DE BD until we see what the BD looks like with the UHD.

This is the caliber of film that I'll gladly upgrade to 4K. I remember seeing this in the theater and how dumbstruck I was by power of the movie.

Zavvi still showing the 12th of March though.
Base's future releases (good for three months) list it as "pulled" so hopefully it's just a delay rather than a cancellation.

One of my favourite movies and definitely worth owning in 4K imho !

This will be my fourth upgrade if the quality is as good as it should be considering the UHD seem to be derived from a 4K DI. I really hope the studio does not mess this release up like they did with the first DNR:ed blu-ray release with missing arrows and stuff ! This movie deserves the best transfer possible !

Looking forward to watch this masterpiece on my OLED in 4K HDR glory

Two Asian labels are also making steel books

It’s not cancelled in the slightest, possible delay

I don't think I've seen this movie in its entirety so I'll gladly pay what will probably be $20 to get it in UHD. I've found myself lately buying things just to buy things so having higher quality stuff on my list is a good way to spend less money.

How's paramount's track record for catalogue 4k/uhd releases so far? This is probably one of my favourite movies and would definitely purchase if there's a decent upgrade.

Paramount's 'Big' catalog releases so far have been Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Transformers 1-4, with Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider- The Cradle of Life coming next month.

Star Trek 1 & 2, and Transformers are amazing releases. Not to mention, Paramount included the bonus features Blu-ray discs in their releases. I have yet to pick up TF 2-4, or Cloverfield 1 & 2, so I can only go off of reviews.

Oh I see. All of those titles, with the minor exception of Cloverfield, are all quite worthy upgrades. The Star Treks and Transformers look great.

I've been meaning to get 2-4, but I'm trying to space out re-buying movies in 4K UHD, which I already have on Blu-ray. I was practically salivating while watching the final 40 minutes of Transformers: The Last Knight though, so holding out for those is proving quite difficult..

I would love to see how this movie looks in 4K, but one question.
Will Universal do a 4K release of Gladiator in the US or just exclusive to Europe as of now?

Universal don't have the US rights, so no.
