Halloween is my first love in horror. Everything about the original was so well done. I think we all know this film won’t match the perfection of the original but I hope it is good enough to rewatch several times. That will do me.

Rumor coming from someone who saw Michael Myers on set, said that the mask is very similar to the original mask.

Also, first look at Michael Myers on set, although you can't really see much. (He's by the tree)

Everything is shaping up to be the perfect Halloween sequel. There's a lot of hype for this one. A couple more things I would like to see in this film:

1. I want to hear Mr. Sandman play in the beginning.
2. I want to see the credits open with a pumpkin like in Halloween 1 and 2.
3. More call backs and easter eggs

Agreed. Also I want to see Ben Tramer alive and well! Maybe even married to Laurie.

I mean... the odds are so much against this movie. he hasn't been scary since that first one.

it makes me sad that the only ones I've had a chance to see in a theatre have all been awful (h20, resurrection, zombieween)

myers can never be scary again like he was in the first one, because we know who he is.

I personally, don't want to know anything about it and have low expectations. I'll give it a shot and see it in the theatre when it comes out. but I just don't know how much faith I have in in the movie. really, it all comes from being a fan of what blumhouse has put out.

even with all that being said... it seems more likely to be terrible than a home run. I would love for this to be a home run and of the best genre films of the year. I just want to not get caught up in the hype, because this movie has enough of a shadow to try and escape from already.

There's nothing wrong with having a few references, call backs, and easter eggs. I think everything they've said so far about this film sounds very promising. But it seems like you already have your mind made up on it before even watching it.

Meaning they have callbacks and references in other reboots/sequels or whatever you wanna call them. Not just in the Halloween series. And people get mad over it.

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't mind that type of stuff. I would have been excited for any Halloween sequel regardless of John Carpenter's involvement or not.

I think what you don't want to do, is make a film too similar to the original, to the point where its basically a remake. That would be a bad idea, but throwing little things in there like having a TV commercial for the Silver Shamrock big giveaway or having Mr. Sandman play on the radio and stuff like that would be awesome.

For me personally, I just love the original so much that even lesser sequels haven’t diluted my appreciation of the film. I am extremely hyped that they may get it right. October seems too far away!
