I got a message today on the MP app saying I had previously contacted them with a customer service issue but they were overwhelmed and they wanted to let me know that they now have a MoviePass customer service phone number.

Unfortunately, because the app SUCKS, since I closed the app after reading it, I now can no longer access that message to see the number. If I go to the contact section it just tries to open a new conversation. The old one is apparently gone forever.

So anyway, if anyone else gets a similar message, please post the phone number here for everyone to take down for future reference.

The good news is that they are still losing money big time.
first of all, the fact that they can create a company and try something new is exactly what free market is about, not hurting it. If customers want to reject it, they will. If they accept it, so be it. Same with theaters - no one is making them participate. Moviepass can choose whom to advertise based on who wants to work with them. To say it's some kind of unfair business practice to do that is like saying "the Super Bowl has the biggest audience, but is only willing to show ads for the companies that pay them for airtime". Of course they are!

as for your second comment, why is that "good news"? and if you are against it, how about stop coming in this thread and trolling against it?

Does the load circle keeps spinning for everyone when you try to check in? The last two weeks it's been awful and 10-15 people a day that the app won't let people check in. I have had luck and tell people to walk around the parking lot. Sometimes the 100 yards location is weird. This only works 50% of the time.

I usually check in when I arrive in front of the building to ensure my phone's GPS or whatever you call it picks it up.

After being sick for a little over two weeks, I finally was well enough... mostly... to head out to a movie theater. Saw Molly's Game at Regal so I can score the digital copy later. The flu or cold or whatever I had really derailed some of my plans to see a couple of films. Oh well, I'm gonna go see Winchester tomorrow.

Wow showing everyone's email? That is just really bad. Anyone contact them via some sort of social media to let them know about it. That is a huge security flaw.

Is anyone here a member of the Movie Pass Chatter group on Facebook? I recently joined. It's cool but I pretty much never post anything because I don't like that my friends that aren't members can see what I post. I wish there was a way to hide that.

I hate that Facebook broadcasts everything I like and comment on in the news feed. I mean, I’m fine with Facebook friends but I don’t care to have everything I comment on or like made public.

Isn't that the point of Facebook?

No...at least it didn't use to be. I seem to remember days it didn't broadcast everything you liked and commented on in the news feed, just the stuff you actually posted on your wall.

Default You can set who sees your Facebook post

At the bottom of the entry box for your post there's a drop-down menu that says Global, Friends, etc. You can choose to have it go to just your Facebook friend list or even just one or two people.

On anybody's post, look right under their Name and there'll be an icon (Earth/globe, two silhouettes, etc) telling you who can see it.

Your Likes and comments will be seen by people according to their post. (If they post globally, yes, but if they only posted it to their friends, then only their friends will see your Likes/comments.

Went to a 7:00PM movie last night.

Got into the theater at 7:05PM, and the 7:00PM listing was no longer showing up on the app. I'm assuming that's something new for the beta version? I don't ever remember that happening on the original app, and I know I'm not on time 100% of the time. Pretty dumb, imo. Movies have like 15-20 minutes of trailers nowadays, so if you wanna show up 5-10 minutes after the posted start time, you never end up missing parts of the film.

Used the "Unlisted Showtime" button at the bottom, and it worked immediately. But still annoying.

That's happened to me on the current app, and I have an iPhone. So I get anxious when I end up getting to the theater later than expected.

I believe posts to groups are different though - unless it's a closed group and viewable only to those in the group then the posts are fully public and will show on feeds.

Mine was even funnier. Went to the 9:30am showing of Winchester.

Got there at 9:20 and the listing was already gone. I just checked into a later showing and sent MP an email about the bug and how it needs to be changed.

ETA: Figured it out. You have to go into Testflight to update the beta. We don't get notifications apparently there are updates. Just updated to the new beta they released Saturday and its now showing showings that started 10-15 minutes ago.

Yeah, I just found out about the updates on Reddit like an hour ago. Have never used Testflight before, so I had no clue I was supposed to be checking for updates. Good to know it's been worked out! Glad they brought back the Grid History view too.

Is it a Regal?

They have a corporate policy to do so so that MP users aren’t refunding tickets and getting cash back but it goes back to MP
