I think the point was just to combine everything into every place. Ultraviolet and iTunes all together, no matter what service you are using. Trying to de-fragment the digital streaming market to make it more appealing. I have a bunch of digital copies that were UV only, after joining Movies Anywhere, I now have all of them in iTunes also. (Except for the few studios that haven't joined...) I prefer iTunes, but there have been several times already at friends houses when we wanted to watch something, and I was able to get Vudu on their TV and we had access to all of my movies...

My first reaction there was surprise - I'm so used to having an AppleTV that I genuinely hadn't actually considered people who don't.

So joining Movies Anywhere automatically puts movies you bought on Amazon or Vudu into your Tunes library?

But why Movies Anywhere?
Well, besides the buy once watch anywhere.
Consumer choice. Now you can buy from the provider you prefer or take advantage of a sale on a participating studio's film and not have to worry about being locked to that provider.

So if I buy a movie on the Irish iTunes that doesn't have extras but it does on the US store, then I access those extras on Movies Anywhere?
I scrolled the site without signing up and they have The Martian theatrical and extended cuts. The extended cut isn't available in iTunes here so would that mean I can't watch the extended version on MA or any of it's commentaries?
