Come on, i saw it in theatres at 10 and found that scene pathetic only, like most of that movie.

Pteranodons were cool as hell and made it worthy in the end, but that awful scene is wrong on so many levels that ****ed up the movie from the start.
They spoiled the raptors in the first minutes of the movie talking to Alan in a full daylight close-up.. i mean what the everloving **** were they thinking?!
Let alone the fact that any attempt of rational explanations dies from the start, as doesn’t make any sense the Alan sees that raptor instead of the ones in the first one.
Kelly scene in the second one come scary close as level of stupidity, but at least that movie can count stunning cinematography, direction, editing, soundtrack, writing, set design, a better cast, better set pieces and animations, and an actual ending.

Why? It's a relatively common occurence when someone else comes in to write/direct a project they weren't involved with previously. TV shows, especially ones with 20+ episode seasons, are particularly susceptible to it but so are movie franchises like JP.

So really there’s only Jaws, Raiders Trilogy and Schindler’s List left of what I’d call the holy grail films of his. Wonder if we’ll get any of those this year?
I would think there has to be some tie-in for the other movies...anniversary, related new theatrical movie, etc.

For Raiders, I would guess it will come near Indiana Jones 5 in 2020...that would also be the 45th ann for Jaws.

I’m not sure we’ll have to wait that long for either. There’s a sense that the big hitters are coming thick and fast to the format.

I guess they could celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Last Crusade with the set coming next year?

Anything possible, but most catalog titles that have come out on UHD BD have been related something.

For Last Crusade? Nah.

If it's like The Mummy 4k set I'll def have to wait for The Individuals like I did for The Mummy Movies.

Like Star Wars, the Indiana Jones movies never came early to DVD and Blu-ray so don't get your hopes up. Of course Lucasfilm no longer being controlled by Lucas anymore this may change things up a bit.

When will we hear the official news about this? Whether these are new transfers or not are make or break for me, as I'm sure it is for everyone here as well!

do you know JP3 originally had a more elaborate plot with the same actors cast, but a few weeks before filming they threw the whole thing out and just went with the more simpler rescue plotline?

You're ignoring the fact that Alan Grant has excavated many raptors and has in all likelihood, commissioned illustrations of them. He has a solid idea of what they actually looked like. So, that, combined with his memories of the Nublar raptors resulted in a dream where he saw a Dromaeosaur that looked like a combination of the actual ones and the ones from Nublar. Why is that so hard to understand? Dreams aren't rational!

Yes, and it was a bad idea involving a number of high school students and their parents crash landing on Sorna. The kids were on one plane and the parents were on another. That was a terrible idea for a JP film. How many kids or parents could they have killed off, tell me?

One idea that was partially retained was Steven Spielberg suggesting Alan Grant live on Sorna and study raptor behaviour. So, Eric stayed on Sorna and Grant learned about Raptor behaviour in the end.

Yeah, I thought the idea that Grant somehow decided to sneak onto Sorna and live among the dinos like a crazy hermit after telling Hammond "screw this place, we're outta here" at the end of 1 was a little farfetched. You don't go back for more after a raptor tries to eat you. Dead dinos are good, living pseudo-dinos are bad.

I'd love to see Alan (and Ellie) on Sorna. There can be a very different reason as to why he goes this time. I have a really solid idea but won't share it.

I'm sure its already been mentioned, but its a shame they couldn't have waited just a little bit and included the new JW movie in the set.

It is definitely intentional and a marketing strategy by Universal Studios. Universal Studios released this:

Jurassic Park Collection Blu-ray (With space for Jurassic World) on May 12, 2015:

Jurassic World released on June 12, 2015.

And then, Universal Studio released this (which is the same exact packaging with Jurassic World BD included):

They're probably going to do the same exact thing with the 4K release, since Jurassic World 2 comes out this summer.

Seeing that all four were shot on celluloid film and used flat aspect ratios, I say it's a good quadrilogy set. JW2 is shot digitally and in a letterbox ratio. The last one will probably be shot the same way. Also, from JW2 onwards, they're taking the story away from the islands. So JW2 and 3 can work as a duo-logy within the bigger franchise as well.
